In the book, de Zayas claims that approximately two million Germans died during the post period of 1944-1949, although most recent research on the subject has put the number at around half a million.

In fact, the most recent research has been conducted by de Zayas and published 2012 in his "50 Theses on the Expulsion of the Germans" ISBN 978-3-9812110-4-7

There, on pp. 55-58 de Zayas convincingly explains that none of the "recent research" is professional or methodologically reliable and that therefore one must continue to rely on the demographic studies of the Statistisches Bundesamt and those of Dr. Fritz Peter Habel and Gerhard Reichling. 

Although, according to a study at the German Federal Archives of 1974,  at least half a million were murdered directly, succumbing to beatings, dying of rape, shooting etc., a million and a half died as a direct consequence of the expulsions, since these were brutal and disorderly and Germany was in a state of total collapse upon their arrival -- so that a humanitarian catastrophe ensued, as abundantly reported in United States and British official memoranda and studies. 

Moreover, nearly two million East Germans were carted off to slave labor in the Soviet Union and some 40% of them perished on the way to the Urals and Siberia, during their hard years of slave labor, or during their repatriation. 

Attempting to reduce the number of German dead from 2.2 million to half a million is as obnoxious as attempting to reduce the number of Holocaust dead from six million to one million as some revisionists do.

Pope Benedict XVI’s rehabilitation of a British bishop who denies that millions of Jews died in Nazi gas chambers has alarmed Catholics who fear it risks dealing a fatal blow to the inter-faith dialogue promoted by his predecessor.

Over the weekend the Pope issued a decree welcoming back into the Roman Catholic Church Richard Williamson, 68, and three other breakaway bishops excommunicated by John Paul II in 1988. The bishops had been ordained without Vatican permission by the renegade French archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, who rejected the reforms of the Second Vatican Council.

The Vatican decree referred to the need to overcome the “scandal of divisiveness” and seek reconciliation and “full communion” with Lefebvre’s order, the ultra-conservative Society or Fraternity of St Pius X. It lifted the excommunication not only of Bishop Williamson, rector of the Seminary of Our Lady Co-Redemptrix in La Reja, Argentina, but also of Bernard Fellay, the leader of the order, Alfonso de Gallareta, and Tissier de Mallerais.

Renzo Gattegna, head of the Union of Jewish Communities in Italy, said the rehabilitation of Bishop Williamson was “terrible not only for Jewish people but for the whole of humanity”. He said that Italian Jews would refuse to take part in joint prayers with Christians on Tuesday marking Holocaust Day, known in Italy as “The Day of Memory”.

Some Vatican officials are also saying privately that although the Pope’s stated aim was to unite the Church by bringing the rebels back into the fold, his move would have the opposite effect. “The Church will pay a price for this” one Vatican prelate said. “The Pope is undermining the legacy of John Paul II.”

Benedict’s actions are also reviving his old nickname when he was Cardinal Ratzinger — that of the “Panzerkardinal”, known for his hardline conservatism as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

“This is not so much an act of grace as a surrender,” the veteran Vatican watcher Marco Politi said. Benedict wanted a new era of reconciliation, “but the new era has begun with a lie. The Pope has made a openly declared and unshakeable anti-Semite a legitimate Bishop”.

Lefebvre, who died in 1991, had set up “a fanatical and reactionary counter-Church which openly contested, repudiated and defamed all the crucial points of Vatican II, from respect for the Jews to modernisation of the liturgy”. There are an estimated 500 Lefebvris bishops and 600,000 followers worldwide.

Gianni Gennari, a theologian and contributor to the Italian Catholic daily Avvenire, said it was “shameful that the lifting of the excommunications was not accompanied by any repentance whatever on the part of the Lefebvrists”.

Bishop Williamson, who has said that the Vatican is controlled by Satan and that the Jews are bent on world domination, reiterated in a broadcast last week on Swedish television that the historical evidence was “hugely against six million having been deliberately gassed in gas chambers as a deliberate policy of Adolf Hitler. I believe there were no gas chambers”.

He added: “I think that 200,000 to 300,000 Jews perished in Nazi concentration camps, but none of them by gas chambers.”

Prosecutors in Regensburg in Germany, where the interview took place — and where the Pope once studied and taught — have opened an inquiry. Holocaust denial is an offence under German law.

Father Federico Lombardi, the papal spokesman, insisted the lifting of the excommunications had “absolutely nothing to do” with Williamson’s views on the Holocaust. “One is not connected to the other,” he said. Vatican Radio said Williamson’s statements had been condemned by other members of the St Pius X fraternity.

This month Elia Enrico Richetti, the chief rabbi of Venice, said Jews had been deeply offended by the reintroduction by the Pope in March of a Good Friday Latin prayer for the conversion of the Jews as part of the revived Tridentine Mass. “We are moving toward the cancellation of 50 years of Church history” the rabbi said.

Other Catholic-Jewish tensions include plans by the Pope to beatify Pius XII, the wartime pontiff accused by critics of failing to speak out in defence of Jews. The Vatican insists that Pius helped the Jews while avoiding public statements that would have made matters worse, and has demanded the removal of a plaque attacking him at the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem.

The Pope has twice visited synagogues, in the US and his native Germany, and sought to make amends with the Islamic world after a speech at Regensburg two years ago in which he appeared to suggest that Islam was inherently violent and irrational. However, he recently declared that inter-religious dialogue “in the strict sense of the word” between Christians, Jews and Muslims was “not possible”.

Pope move ignites Holocaust row

The Pope has lifted the excommunication from the Roman Catholic Church of four bishops appointed by a breakaway archbishop more than 20 years ago.

One of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre's appointees, Briton Richard Williamson, outraged Jews by saying the Nazi gas chambers did not exist.

Two of the other three appointees are French while the fourth is Argentinean.

Israel's envoy to the Vatican said the papal decision would "cast a shadow on relations with Jews".

"We have no intention of interfering in the internal workings of the Catholic Church, however, the eagerness to bring a Holocaust denier back into the Church will cast a shadow on relations between Jews and the Catholic Church," Mordechai Lewy told Reuters news agency.

Lefebvre, who died in 1991, rebelled against liberal reforms in the Church, such as the end of the Latin Mass.

He opposed replacing the traditional Mass with services in national languages.

The Vatican said the excommunications had been lifted after the bishops affirmed their willingness to accept Church teachings and papal authority.

'No gas chambers'

Relations between the Vatican and representatives of the Jewish faith have been strained throughout much of the Church's recent history, especially because of Pope Pius's passive stance towards the Holocaust in World War II, the BBC's Greg Morsbach reports.

The latest move by Pope Benedict is likely to add to those strains.

Bishop Richard Williamson recently told Swedish TV: "I believe there were no gas chambers. I think that two to three hundred thousand Jews perished in Nazi concentration camps but none of them by gas chambers."

The Vatican has distanced itself from those remarks.

But its spokesman, Rev Federico Lombardi, still stood by the decision to rehabilitate Bishop Williamson and the others.

"This act regards the lifting of the excommunications, period," he told reporters.

"It has nothing to do with the personal opinions of a person, which are open to criticism, but are not pertinent to this decree."

Put yourself in their shoes. How could they possibly pull off such a feat? The right wingers always try to wipe the evidence away by simply stating: The victor always writes history. It's not as easy as that. An accurate observation would be to see that some things in history are easier to falsify than others. You can for example easily hide the real powers behind or the real intentions of a puppet. Here they had a problem with a massive crime raising the question of the culprit and the motive: there was way too much evidence that could not be denied away:

- the laws that were written down by the Nazis
- the documented speeches and propaganda
- a huge number of dead people
- millions of witnesses

What could they do? Only something indirect, only one thing: Nourish the doubt! How could that be achieved? Easy:

- figures: maybe exaggerate; publish contradicting numbers; revoke and correct the numbers later to a lower level
- make things up, like dramatic inhumane things which allegedly happened and false testimonies of „survivors” that are exposed and revoked later
- set up undemocratic laws to „protect” the truth and persecute doubters in lengthy show trials
- bombard the public with admonitions in the media and education until they are sick of it
- false representatives: make outrageous demands for compensation in the name of the victims until it becomes ridiculous

As outlandish as it may sound at first, I think this is exactly what we are seeing.

People like Zündel are not literally silenced like Alberto Rivera. Rivera on the other hand never got such a platform like people like Zündel get. If Rivera had ever been dignified with such show trials the public would be aware of the legitimate accusations against the Jesuits and the Vatican today. Instead you never see something that goes beyond the LIHOP (let it happen on purpose) speculations that surround the Vatican and its role during the Holocaust.

This is the reason why I was never so much interested in the real figures. It would be of much value though to prove that Stalin and Hitler worked in unison. There are reports about ovens in the soviet Gulag camps and people being burned alive in accordance with old church policy regarding treatment of heretics. There were Russian deserters who fought for the SS. And probably the real figures are hard to determine as special death squads like the „Einsatzgruppen” swept the East and hushed up evidence in mass graves.

But simply Tito had the Vatican orders to eliminate the witnesses that could have exposed the Roman Catholic church expecially in the Inquisitorial butchering of the Orthodoxies. Remember that the strongest Communist party of Yugoslavia was the Croat one. And Marshal Josiph Broz Tito was a Croat. Does it sound strange when you link the same Croatia with the most cruel assassinations of the whole WWII perpetraded by Stepinac/Pavelic's Independent State of the Croats? Deakin managed to save Tito’s life during a low-level aerial attack though both of them were wounded. Apart from that I have the suspicion that some claims about the Holocaust were deliberately exaggerated, so that the topic could be easily dismissed by the Holocaust deniers as a whole. The same reason why the „protection” laws (aka hate crime laws) were invented as I believe.

You know my opinion on this: they don't get killed either, like real truth sayers (e.g. Rivera). I once read the statement that the media and the judicial system are not really helping the issue by having lenghty show trials and reporting in full detail about them, giving revisionists like Zündel a perfect platform. I think this is by intention. I know the effect on the German public, and especially the conspiracy scene. Of course they scream that Zündel et al must be right then. Many do not realize in what clever and wicked ways the conspirators work and to what degree the opinion of the masses is manipulated – even that of the people who think they are awakened from the deception. The truth has many levels – unfortunately.

Please note how a Holocaust is a SACRIFICAL BURNT OFFERING TO THE GODS. So burning had to be part of the Judiac Holocaust. It is very true though that theres much deception on this subject. People like Ernst Zundel do not get jailed for nothing and these people are hounded like hell for their words. Davies was inspired to the title by Jan Kochanowski's 1580s Boże igrzysko (Mankind: Bauble of the Gods).

The book (or two, as many editions are split into two volumes) has received good reviews in international press^[1] and is considered by many historians^[2] and other scholars^[3] to be one of the best English-language books on the subject of history of Poland. The author received several Polish honours.

Yet where does it even mention Wlodimir Ledochowski (born October 7, 1866, died December 13, 1942)?!

The only Ledochowski mentioned in the index is Wlodimir's uncle Mieczyslaw, who was imprisoned in 1874 by the government of Otto Von Bismarck, at page 127.

So typical. Encouraging old Silesians to deny the holocaust of the Jewish peoples has them unwittingly denying the holocaust of Prussia (East Prusia, Dantsic, Pomerania and Silesia) of the admitted counter reformation aim of the 20th century's greatest criminal, Wlodimir Ledochowski.

Such utterings, just somehow always avoid a direct comparison of situations as the India-Pakistan split, the westward shift of Poland, and the Israel-Palestine conflict, in favor of selective comparisons/omissions that always divert attention from the continuing counter reformation.

Of course this whole H-topic is forbidden to talk about in public here in Germany. We have a law punishing people who voice any doubts about the details of the holocaust or the holocaust itself. This very often leads the people to the – in my eyes very wrong – conclusion that there must be something fishy about the holocaust. So it’s no wonder that it was a Roman-Catholic priest, Viktor Knirsch, who made this quote – often cited in right-wing circles, but sadly by conspiracy researchers too – that basically says that the truth must be able stand on it’s own legs, only the lie has to be protected (by a law). Viktor Knirsch was the pastor of the German holocaust denier Gerd Honsik by the way, who made another most remarkable statement, that the revisionist movement, which denies the genocid of millions of the Jews, is carried in large part BY CATHOLICS. My personal conclusion is that this law together with the open injustice in Palestine done by the controlled government of Israel together with the bold demands of Israel, the ADL or the German „Zentralrat der Juden” (Central council of the Jews), the daily indoctrination, the constant rubbing under our noses and the big media show trials for people like Ernst Zündel (who are NOT killed, like real truth sayers) only serve this very purpose: To make the people believe there was no holocaust at all, to finally let them turn away in disgust! And probably to prepare the ground for another holocaust, another inquisition. We all know who has a motive for this strategy. Most people don’t see this player on the field at all, the Vatican, so they come to the wrong conclusions. It’s a very clever and diabolic scheme, as most people are not able to conceive it. I cannot make a final judgement about certain details of the holocaust, and I have the feeling some things like turning people into soap and lamp shades were exaggerated by Vatican-inspired intention, so people later will dismiss the whole topic. But sometimes I think it might have been even WORSE, because things like burning heretics, especially alive, is totally in line with old church policy. I once read reports about people being burnt alive during the holocaust, see links below (*). The Greek word holocaust itself, which only seemed to appear in Catholic versions of the Bible, and made it into the Hebrew works as well (see documentary „Roman Empire Rules Today”, DVD #2) might point to this old Church policy.

Yes, I agree, the awareness of these other holocausts should be raised instead of attacking the one of the Jews. The one in Eastern Germany, the ones in Russia, the bombing of Protestant cities and especially the one in Croatia, so people begin to see it wasn’t about the Jewish people alone, but about orthodox and protestant too (among others), with a certain aim like in Croatia, and with that bigger picture before their eyes they begin to ask who could have a motive – standard crime investigation procedure – of killing exactly those groups of people. Only talking about the Jews all the time leads the people to very deceptive conclusions, like „the Zionists” ( which most people regard as a Jewish operation of course ) where behind the holocaust. Which has some little truth to it, but we all know it’s very far from the full truth.
