Today I discovered a news article about a traffic court judge - John Marks - in Nassau County New York who supports charging people a $30 court administrative fee when found NOT guilty.
“The person that caused the ticket to be written should be responsible
for the processing,” said Judge John Marks, Traffic and Parking
Violations Director for the county.
Nevermind that a finding of "not guilty" would mean that the "person that caused the ticket to be written" would then be the police officer.
I do some research and find that the judge is a Papist- to wit a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a member of the St. Martin of Tours Parish Council and is a
member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild, a past Deputy Grand Knight in the
Knights of Columbus and a 4th Degree Sir Knight.
So I post a comment that the judge is a "throwback to the inquisition" with the above url and italicized quote.
Minutes later the comment disappears.
I repost it- only to get the message: "Hold on this is waiting to be approved by CBS New York"- nevermind that I did not get such a message when I initially posted the comment.
Charging people $30 for the "crime" of having their tickets dismissed
is so far beyond rationality or constitutionality that the citizens
must fix it. The realistic way to fix this is to vote out EVERY
official in office and replace them with candidates who have integrity,
justice, fairness, and a refusal to pilfer the wallets of their
constituents as their key attributes. When you have a cancer in Nassau
county officials, the same group that was forced to abandon the
predatory money grab of the school zone speed cameras, the only way to
really fix it is to cut out ALL the cancer and start over.
Officials
that treat their constituents with contempt and think it is OK to "spit
in their faces" with $30 charges for having tickets dismissed need to
lose their jobs and NEVER serve in government jobs again.

If the ticket was dismissed, that would be the officer who wrote the ticket.
It's very simple, don't fight city hall, get rid of the lawmakers in
city hall that came up with the surcharge. In other words, find out who
wrote the surcharge, who voted for the surcharge and approved it and
show their ass out the door during the next election. Easy peasy. Tell
the new lawmakers to get rid of the surcharge, or they will be following
their friends out the doors as well. Quit being sheep and be men!!
