'Elite' Colleges'- Missing the Point

Letters to the Editor of the New York Times, like perhaps most people, miss the point about Santorum's comments about Colleges being for 'snobs':
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/13/opinion/at-elite-colleges-too-much-hubris.html

Re “A Smug Education?,” by Andrew Delbanco (Op-Ed, March 9):

John W. Gardner, former secretary of health, education and welfare, observed that our colleges and universities have always had “uncritical lovers” and “unloving critics.”

Mr. Delbanco is a wise, passionate, loving critic of American higher education. He is right to remind the nation’s most distinguished institutions that elite higher education is a precious commodity with moral overtones and that humility and modesty will always be in short supply when selective institutions serve as gatekeepers to social mobility.

For his part, Rick Santorum has chosen the role of an aggrieved unloving critic. His politically charged comments bashing elite colleges and universities as arrogant, self-indulgent indoctrination centers, though fueled by the raw emotions of an unforgiving primary campaign, represent a deeply ingrained, anti-intellectual strain in American life. Such a view ignores the vital public interest played by all higher education institutions in nurturing what Thomas Jefferson called the “natural aristocracy” of talent and virtue.

To the Editor:

I have no desire to dispute Andrew Delbanco’s views of the smugness of the Ivy League, including his employer and my alma mater, Columbia University. But I fear that both Professor Delbanco and Rick Santorum fall into a similar trap: thinking of college entirely as the Ivies or as four-year universities.

At the community college where I teach, hubris exists, but mainly among academic administrators and select faculty members.

The students are too busy trying to make a living, put food on the table, tend to their children and get to the classes that will help make them better people and better workers — no thanks to Mr. Santorum and those of like ignorance who deride colleges as elitist or as indoctrination camps.

To the Editor:

There is a potent antidote to Andrew Delbanco’s fears that our most prestigious colleges’ elitism encourages smugness among their students.

If each Ivy League college committed to accepting transfer students from community colleges for 1 percent of their junior classes, privileged students would begin to encounter students from the other 99 percent. Research confirms that low-income and minority transfer students, after being transformed by a community college education, graduate at the same or higher rates than students who began at the same college.

Making transfers a part of the elite colleges would provide living proof that intelligence, drive and achievement are not the sole province of students born with good fortune, but are as alive as the American dream among strivers at community colleges.

To the Editor:

Andrew Delbanco says “the charge that elite college culture encourages smugness and self-satisfaction contains, like Mr. Santorum’s outburst, a germ of truth.” A germ?

Has he ever been to a sports event where one team is an Ivy League school and its entire student section engages in the chant “Safety school! Saaaaa-fety school!” at the opponents?

None mention the very system of shadow government pervasive in practically every college- that of "Fraternities" with their emphasis on one's ability to get drunk and agreeable to absurdity for that ticket to get ahead.

Questions that voters overwhelmingly fail to ask include the percentage of elected officials and candidates for such who belong to fraternal organizations.

To better understand political dynamics, consider fraternalism:
http://books.google.com/books/about/The_faces_of_fraternalism.html?id=IJeFAAAAMAAJ

The faces of fraternalism: Nazi Germany, fascist Italy, and imperial Japan

The Faces of Fraternalism is the first comparative sociological study of Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan. Brooker focuses on the very similar and highly unusual social policies of these three regimes. He uses the term "fraternalism" to describe their unique social policy of attempting to instill in a modern society the primeval type of social solidarity found in clans and tribes, and known to sociologists as "mechanical solidarity." He describes the implementation of this policy by examining the three national or racial solidarity-building cults-National Socialism, Fascism, and State Shinto--and the dozens of indoctrinating organizations used to propagate them. This original examination throws fresh light on the efforts of three major twentieth-century powers to create and maintain social solidarity, and will enhance our understanding of the phenomenon of fascism.
And yes, Santorum belongs to a college fraternity:

excerpt-

Long before he was a leading presidential candidate who had assumed the identity of a culture warrior, Santorum was just another fraternity brother at Tau Epsilon Phi. "He wasn't so outspoken," Vondercrone says. "It seems to be his identity in the race right now. I didn't think of him as that way ... We talked about sports, our classes."

He says Santorum regularly attended the house's Monday night "low-stakes" poker games that included watching "Monday Night Football." He remembers Santorum smoking cigars. And drinking beer. Santorum was an "all-year" sports fan, Vondercone recalls. He was a Pittsburgh fan whether it was the Pirates or the Steelers.

So the real message of Santorum is not an honest one against elites but rather being one while pretending otherwise

Fraternity Facts

* The Greek system is the largest network of volunteers in the US, with members donating over 10 million hours of volunteer service each year.

* Every U.S. President and Vice President, except two in each office, born since the first social fraternity was founded in 1825 have been members of a fraternity.

* 76% of all Congressmen and Senators belong to a fraternity. 40 of 47 U.S. Supreme Court Justices since 1910 were fraternity men. 71% of those listed in "Who's Who in America" belong to a fraternity.

* There are 123 fraternities and sororities with 9 million members total.

* Of the nation's 50 largest corporations, 43 are headed by fraternity men.

* A U.S. Government study shows that over 70% of all those who join a fraternity/sorority graduate, while under 50% of all non-fraternity/sorority persons graduate.

* Less than 2% of an average college student's expenses go toward fraternity/sorority dues.

* Over 85% of the student leaders on some 730 campuses are involved in the Greek community.

2% = 80%??

The American college fraternity is one of the few institutions on our higher educational structure which was invented by us and not borrowed from European models. Not surprisingly, it has been a symbol of American college student independence, pride, and leadership.

Fraternity men represent about 2% of the male population of America. What is happening to that 2% ? They are leading this nation! Approximately 80% of the executives of the 500 largest corporations in America are fraternity men. More than three fourths of our U .S. Senators are fraternity men, as are a majority of the men listed in Who's Who in America. Of the sixteen U.S. Presidents who had a chance to join a college fraternity, thirteen took advantage of the opportunity. So many college presidents have been fraternity members that the total would run into the thousands.

How and why are fraternities able to produce such a large percentage of our nation's leaders? The easiest way to answer this question is to examine just what happens in a fraternity.

A college fraternity provides a young man with the opportunity to learn how to work together with people, whether it be for the highest grades, the best homecoming float, a community service project or merely to keep the house clean. A fraternity provides a unique combination: family, home away from home, social organization, business and organization in which students can develop confidence as they acquire competence. The opportunities for leadership are unlimited and the most important thing is that the principles of leadership are learned through experience.

This experience teaches fraternity men that success is not automatic, but rather, that knowledge and performance are what count most. A fraternity man learns how to develop sensitivity regarding the desires, goals, and aspirations of others; how to communicate, how to inspire, how to motivate; the importance of setting an example; how to delegate responsibility; and how to accept failure as well as success and glory .He learns that a true leader must have the courage to stand up for his beliefs, while also being attentive, interested, and responsive to those who may disagree.

Too many students come to college, sign up for classes, study from test to test memorizing material and feeding it back at test time. They may get good grades and graduate, but it is surprising how many college graduates are wandering around looking for jobs because they did not develop the ability to work with people or the basic qualities of leadership while they were in college. The qualities of leadership must be tested and developed by each person and a fraternity provides the opportunity for students for just that. This is how 2% can equal 80%.

Notably, the Jesuit Superior General during the 1820s - Luigi Fortis, born February 26, 1748, Verona, Italy, elected Superior General December 10, 1820, died January 27, 1829, Rome Italy - took an interest in establishing the customs of those of collge age education institutions:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luigi_Fortis

Superior General

The new Superior General dedicated his short term of office to restoring the texture of Jesuit life as he had known it in the old Society. Fortis' letters to the whole Society describe in detail the customs which should regulate the life of the novitiates and scholasticates. One can still find little booklets from his time containing extracts from the letters of the Generals of the old Society with lists of the occasions on which they should be read aloud during meals. The principal achievement of Father Fortis and his generation of Jesuits lay in establishing beyond question the historical continuity of the restored Society with the Society founded by Ignatius that had existed until 1773.

Fortis reestablished also several provinces, including in the new world (Mexico), and three missions (Ireland, Maryland and Missouri) were depending directly on the General. Requests were coming from many places for the Jesuits to start anew the work they had been doing in the past, especially in the educational field. This prompted Fortis to initiate a revision of the Ratio Studiorum to adapt it to the thoroughly new socio-religious atmosphere of the 19th century.

A sign of the new trust of the papacy towards the Society is the fact that Pope Leo XII returned to Jesuit management the Roman College, as well as the church of St Ignatius, in Rome (1824).

Ratio Studiorum:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratio_Studiorum

The Ratio Studiorum (Latin: "Plan of Studies") often designates the document that formally established the globally influential system of Jesuit education in 1599. Its full title is Ratio atque Institutio Studiorum Societatis Iesu ("The Official Plan for Jesuit Education").

The work is the product of many hands and wide experience, but it most directly derives from the efforts of an international team of academics at the Jesuit school in Rome, the Collegio Romano.

The Society of Jesus had not originally envisaged running a network of schools when it was founded, but it soon became progressively involved in and then largely associated with educational work. The many schools taken over or started by the Society in its first decades all needed plans (rationes). In addition, an increasing number of young men were entering the Society in need of the educational background that was required for priestly service, and the Society began to assume a greater and greater role in the direction of its own formational program. For these two reasons, there grew a great desire for a standard plan for all of the Society's educational institutions.

Under the generalate of Claudio Aquaviva, in 1581, a committee of twelve Jesuit priests was appointed without clear results. A new committee of six was soon formed in 1584: Juan Azor (Spain), Gaspar González (Portugal), James Tyrie (Scotland), Peter Busée (Holland), Anthony Ghuse (Flanders), and Stephen Tucci (Sicily). This committee produced a trial document, the Ratio of 1586, which was sent to various provinces for comments from the teachers. This plan was not intended for actual use in the classrooms. Reflection on the reactions led to the issuance of another document in 1591, which was to be employed in all Jesuit schools for three years. The reflection on these experiments was then used by the committee in Rome to create the final official document of 1599.

One hundred years after the order's founding, the Jesuits were running 444 schools. By 1739, they were running 669 schools.[1]

The Ratio had an major impact on later humanist education. In his Renaissance Literary Theory and Practice, Charles Sears Baldwin writes, “The sixteenth century closed with the full [classical] doctrine operative in the Ratio Studiorum and in the rhetoric of Soarez” (64).[2]

1/3 of U.S. Congress is "Greek"

"Greek" as in college fraternal orders

http://www.nicindy.org/blog/greeks-compose-one-third-of-congress/

For a third of lawmakers, Congress isn’t the only fraternity they’ve pledged. This is a recent article from the Washingtonian

The members of Kappa Alpha Theta, a sorority at the University of Missouri, needed a new social chair. And only one of their sisters-a blond, gregarious member named Claire-would do.

Under the leadership of the woman who would go on to be Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri-who now sits on committees including Armed Services-Thetas paired with the coolest fraternities on campus to enjoy a social calendar full of dances and parties. At least that's how Leslie Myers, a Theta two years younger than McCaskill, remembers it.

"When we were voting on social chair, the whole room goes, 'Claire,' " says Myers, the owner of a marketing firm in St. Louis. "She knew more people on campus than the other 100 people in Theta combined. It was our most fun year. If we wanted to do it, Claire could make it happen."

McCaskill isn't alone on Capitol Hill in having a Greek affiliation-nearly a third of members of Congress were in a fraternity or sorority, says Peter Smithhisler of the North-American Interfraternity Conference. That percentage is much higher than it is in the general population. Fraternity and sorority life seems to provide good preparation for a career in politics: The Greek process starts with a period of schmoozing, relationship building, and attempts to remember names and faces.

For the House majority leader, Maryland's Steny Hoyer, the experience provided lessons in governing. "My membership in Sigma Chi is one of the big reasons that I am where I am today," says Hoyer, who joined his frat at the University of Maryland. "I learned about working toward a common goal with brothers from every background. We learned that even when we disagree, we are still brothers and have a responsibility to pass that lesson of community on to others."

Those values were tested in Georgia in 2008, when two politicians, who knew each other from their Sigma Chi days at the University of Georgia, faced off in a Senate race.

"I first met Saxby when I was going through fraternity rush," says Jim Martin, the 2008 Democratic challenger to Georgia senator Saxby Chambliss. "He was tall and looked old."

Martin lost to Chambliss but says the race was never personal.

"When I was president of my Sigma Chi pledge class at UGA, Saxby's wife, Julianne, was our pledge-class sweetheart," Martin says. "I have always liked them."

In Congress, Chambliss joins a number of other prominent Sigma Chi brothers, including Hoyer and senators Lamar Alexander, Bob Corker, John Ensign, and Mike Enzi.

Senator Johnny Isakson, also of Georgia, isn't a Sigma Chi-he's a Sigma Alpha Epsilon-but he knows Chambliss and Martin from their frat days.

"Johnny was there at the same time, so we all knew each other," Martin says.

Representative Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia was a Kappa Kappa Gamma at Duke in the 1970s, but she's still making Kappa connections: "Kappas are everywhere. I can start singing the Kappa song and always find someone nearby who knows it."

—————— Chapter XXXII ——————

SKULL AND BONES:

"IT'S PART OF WHO I AM'-

THE HIGHEST MORAL AUTHORITY

DURING HIS PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN of 2000, George W. Bush gave a 90-minute talk (on July 31) with the managing editor of the Illuminati controlled TIME magazine (so says Jesuit Professor Carroll Quigley: see later chapter titled “The Rhodes Gang”). At one point in the interview, Walter Isaacson asked Mr. Bush whether it troubled him at all that he had been initiated into the secret Society of Skull and Bones, to which Bush responded exuberantly, “No qualms at all. I was honored.”[1]

The problem with that response is that the secrets of this Order mark its members as infidels and debauchees, with skeletons in their closets.

The reason the ‘literary society’ of Skull and Bones is of particular concern is that its members are required to take an oath (see later) that completely absolves them from—takes precedence over—allegiance to any nation or king or government or constitution, including the negating of any subsequent oath which they may be required to take, that conflicts with the interests of the Order. To whom then do they swear their ultimate allegiance? We must go back to the origin of the Order to see the roots that sustain these branches.

Now, there has been a certain amount of deliberate falsehoods put out by some who belong to the Order called Skull and Bones. I now offer a very different, and we hope more correct view. As we shall see, Skull and Bones is merely a chapter of the German Illuminati, founded by the Jesuit, Adam Weishaupt.

THE HISTORY OF SKULL AND BONES

The masterminds behind the formation of Skull and Bones were William Huntington Russell and Alphonso Taft. Russell, while on a student tour of Germany, met Adam Weishaupt and was initiated by him into the Illuminati. In 1832, Russell took his newfound wisdom (or ‘illumination’) back to America. A year later, in 1832, a group of Yale undergraduates, led by Alphonso Taft and Russell, formed a society called, “The Skull and Bones,” modelled after the old Phi Beta Kappa Society of 1776 and set up as Chapter 322 of the German Illuminati.[2] Today Skull and Bones’ corporate name is The Russell Trust Association, which financies Skull and Bones, and also supervises the Order’s adherence to the tradition.

Alphonso Taft would later become both President and Chief Justice of the United States—one of four Justices known as the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.” Indeed, “Skull and Bones leads the list in influence, age, and society standing,”[3] among American secret society.

Why have I alleged that Skull and Bones is a Chapter of the German Illuminati formed by Adam Weishaupt? What evidence is there to support this? There is a world-wide secret society called the Brotherhood of Death Society, whose symbol is also the skull with two crossed bones. At this point we want to draw a comparison between Skull and Bones and the Order known as the Thule Society, which many commentators have said is the German chapter of the Brotherhood of Death Society. It is known that Adolf Hitler joined this society in 1919, under the leadership of Dietrich Eckhart. As Eckhart revealed on his deathbed, “Follow Hitler; he will dance, but it is I who have called the tune. I have initiated him into the Secret Doctrine, opened his centers in vision, and given him the means to communicate with the powers.” [4] Skull and Bones’ symbol is also a skull with two crossed bones, but with the mysterious number ‘322’ underneath. It is claimed that certain documents exist which state that Skull and Bones is Chapter 322 of a corps of a German University, and that this German Secret Society (the Thule Society) was the basis for the founding of Skull and Bones at Yale University in 1832. In 1876 the headquarters of Shull and Bones was broken into and a document was found inside with the these words: “From the German Chapter. Presented by Patriarch D.C. Gilman of D. 50.”[5] [Emphasis supplied].

There are indeed some very striking similarities. Like the Thule Society, members of the Order of Skull and Bones are initiated into the society by what is called “sexual magic ritual.” “The [ritualistic] death of the initiate will be as frightful as the use of human skeletons and ritual psychology can make it.... ”[6] The Thule Society performed sexual rituals in their practices, likewise, Skull and Bones also incorporates sexual activities into their initiations (for which see later). Additionally, The Thule Society, were “concerned with raising their consciousness by means of rituals to awareness of evil and nonhuman intelligences in the universe; and with achieving means of communication with these intelligences.”[7] Likewise, the initiates of Skull and Bones believe that they are “born again,” a term that in the Bones vocabulary means “enlightenment,” not the usually meaning given to it in the Christian Gospels.

Significantly, in the book Proofs of a Conspiracy (previously cited) Prof. Robison described the initiation ceremony into the “Regent Degree” of the Illuminati; and according to author Kris Millegan, in his book Fleshing Out Skull and Bones, “It [the Illuminati’s initiation ceremony] bears a striking resemblance to the… ritual for entry into Skull and Bones at Yale.”[8]

The oath taken by the Illuminati requires the initiated to disregard all bonds of allegiance whether to father, mother, brothers, sisters, relations, friends or to the king, magistrates, and any other authority to which loyalty, obedience, or service may have been sworn. The particular passage reads: “faithfulness and everlasting obedience to all superiors and regulations of the Order…. you are free from the so-called oath to country and laws: swear to reveal to the new chief… what you may have seen or done, intercepted, read or heard, learned or surmised, and also seek for and spy out what your eyes cannot discern. Honour and respect the Aqua Tofana (a slow poison) as a sure, prompt, and necessary means of purging the globe by death of those who seek to vilify the truth [their ideology] and seize it from our hands... in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”

“YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN”: INITIATION BY DON QUIXOTE

Let us look more closely at Skull and Bones and its grotesque Illuminati initiation ritual. On April 23, 2001, ABC News reported on a Hidden Video Capture[9] of the Skull and Bones initiation ritual. From this video we know that the initiation takes place on the campus of Yale University in a building called “The Tomb.” Ron Rosenbaum, columnist for the New York Observer, hid out on the ledge of a nearby building and videotaped the nocturnal initiation ceremony in the Tomb’s courtyard. He says that in the room “The death’s-head logo stamps everything from crockery to painted borders on the wall.”[10] There were three people officiating—one dressed like the pope, another like Hiram Abif (the Masonic Messiah) and a third like a Don Quixote [D].[11]

Why the Skull and Bones ritual would have as officiants Bonesmen dressed like the pope, Hiram Abif, and Don Quixote? Let’s look at this a bit closer. However, we need not strain for an answer: the pope represents the supremacy of Catholicism; in Hiram Abif we have the well known representative of Freemasonry. But who is this character Don Quixote?

The Jesuit Carroll Quigley once said, “Look at the real situations which lie beneath the conceptual and verbal symbols.” So let’s take his advice. Quixote was satirically characterized as the epically famous “madman” of Azpeitia. If we start with Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, the author of Don Quixote, we discover that not only was he a “strict Roman Catholic” it is believed that he also attended a Jesuit school in 1566: “Cervantes is likely [to have] enrolled in a Jesuit high school (colegio).”[12] Next we find that Cervantes’ book Don Quixote expressly refers to the pope as “His Holiness the Pope…” and “his holiness Pope Pius V of happy memory.” (pp. 138, 331).

Interestingly, Pope Gregory XII used almost identical words to Cervantes in his letter, dated December 12, 1580, inciting Catholics to murder Queen Elizabeth I: “… that guilty woman (Elizabeth) of England…. is the cause of so much injury to the Catholic faith…. whosoever sends her out of the world with the pious intention of doing God service… especially having regard to the sentence pronounced against her by Pius V of holy memory….”

So who was this character represented by the original “Don Quixote” of whom Cervantes wrote so affectionately? “It was Ignatius Loyola,” says English commentator John Bowle.[13] Was Bowle right? The theory that Loyola (the first Jesuit General) is the man represented in the figure of Don Quixote, as first mooted by Bowle, hangs on a passage in the book Don Quixote[14] where the angry Biscayan, the enemy of Don Quixote, is made a native of Azpeitia—the name of the obscure Spanish village where Loyola was born. [15] It is interesting to note that Quixote the “madman” of Azpeitia had wild visions of fighting with a dragon. Likewise, Ignatius Loyola claimed to have fought with Satan, who is referred to in the Bible as the winged “serpent” and “the dragon” (Revelation 12:3,9,17).

Further, in the story Don Quixote is said to have “composed a rosary” in honour of the Virgin Mary, who is typecast as the girl whom he loves “untouched by any man” who “still possesses… virginity.” (pp. xx, 802). A clear reference to the Virgin Mary—the idol of Loyola and the Jesuits. Even their mother church is named Mary.

In another book Our Lord Don Quixote (1905), Catholic professor Miguel de Unamuno draws parallels between Don Quixote and the life of the founder of the Jesuit Order, Ignatius of Loyola, their “Lord”. And the Jesuit-trained Voltaire wrote, the only difference between Loyola and the Quixote, is that “Don Quixote had a horse and an esquire, but Ignatius was not provided with either.”[16]

Another link to the Jesuits is the use of the skull and crossbones emblem. Earlier we saw that when a Jesuit of the lower rank is to be elevated to a position of command, he is conducted into a Chapel of the Order, where he swears an oath under “a banner of yellow and white [the colours of the pope], and... a black banner with a dagger and red cross above a skull and crossbones.” Bonesmen likewise take an oath of inviolate secrecy while standing before a skull and cross-bones. So, here we see that the Skull and Bones initiation ritual, like that of the Jesuits uses the occult icon of the skull and crossbones.

It is also curious that the emblem of the skull and crossbones is also the symbol of the Chancellor for the Knights of Columbus. Interestingly, at the initiation of Mason the initiate is placed in a coffin and then lifted up; and when he opens his eyes he is confronted with a human skull and crossed bones? Are these similarities between the initiation of Skull and Bones, the Jesuits and Freemasons just another coincidence?

Albert C Stevens (the respected historian) also makes this interesting connection between the Masonic Kappa Sigma society, [discussed at Continuing Counter Reformation here] founded in 1867 at the University of Virginia, and Skull and Bones. On page 355, Stevens states, “The badge [of Kappa Sigma] is an inverted crescent of gold, attached to and below which, by four of its points, is a five-pointed star [the pentagram] with the letters Kappa Sigma in its center…. At the top, on the crescent, a skull and bones are engraved; at the left, the crossed keys [a symbol of the pope’s power], and at the right, crossed swords.”[17] Is this all mere coincidence?

Returning to Quixote. Note, too, that “the hero [Don Quixote] is not one whom the author [Cervantes] desired to revile or to malign,” rather, says Charles Francis Horne, “Never was a satire like this, which leaves us full of love and sympathy for the object [Quixote, i.e. Loyola].”[18] Thus, in the initiation ceremony of Skull and Bones, the pope, the Masonic Hiram Abif, and the Jesuit icon, Don Quixote, are all figures of admiration and emulation. Not surprisingly, then, many of the leading politicians in America, Bush, Clinton, Kerry, Rice, etc., bend and fawn before the Roman pontiff.

It is also quite interesting to note that Pope Benedict XVI (when he was Cardinal Ratzinger) also praised the character Don Quixote. In his book Principles of Catholic Theology the Pope referred to the madman Don Quixote as “a crusader for truth even if the defense of it should cost him his life.”[19] Did not Loyola, that “ingenious gentleman” and crusader, teach the members of his Order to defend the Catholic faith at all hazards, even at the cost of their lives? Is that what Pope Benedict XVI is suggesting to his flock? Is this one the Principles of Catholic Theology?

To continue with the initiation. The Skull and Bones initiate is made to “face a skeleton, and at its feet are a crown and a sword.”[20] During this ritual the Bonesmen shriek out, “Eulogia! Eulogia! Eulogia!” as the initiate is escorted into the inner temple (Room 322), where he is made to sign his name to an oath of utmost secrecy. He is then made to stand before a picture of Judas Iscariot, whose name is shouted aloud three times.

The initiate is next led to the most important part of the ritual, and pushed to his knees before a human skull filled with blood, which skull is resting at the foot of a human skeleton called “Madame Pompadour.” The other Bonesmen cry: “Drink it! Drink it! Drink it!” This mockery of the Christian sacrament is known as the “Black Mass.” When he is done drinking, the initiate is whipped in the face with the tail of the person dressed as the Don Quiote (the classic literary character symbolic of Ignatius Loyola). He is next taken quickly before the Bonesman dressed like the Pope. The initiate must bend and “kiss the Pope’s slippered toe.”[21] This very fact—kissing the slippered toe of the pope—shows that their first allegiance is to the pope! Just as the ‘faithful’ Catholic kisses the toe of the bronze statue of St. Peter, inside the Basilica at Rome, so too, the Bonesman must kiss the pope’s slippered toe at his ritual initiation into the Order.

But that is not all. The candidate is then shoved to his knees in front of Don Quixote. As the shrieking Bonesmen fall silent Don Quixote taps the supplicant on his shoulder with a sword and says, “By order of our Order, I dub you a knight of Eulogia.” This is significant! Not only does the initiate kiss the pope’s toe, more importantly, the initiate is welcomed into the Order by the figure symbolizing the Jesuit General, Don Quixote: “I dub you a knight of Eulogia.” This lurid “melodrama” culminates in a ritual of mock sacrifice of a naked female.

THE RELIGION OF SKULL AND BONES: IS BUSH CHRISTIAN?

The sitting President, George W. Bush, is worryingly ‘religious.’ The President claims that he is on a “divinely” appointed mission! We shall see a little later.

The Bonesmen use the Greek word: eulogia (“blessing”) and are referred to as Knights of Eulogia, because, according to the lore of Skull and Bones, a Roman goddess called Eulogia, after ascending to heaven in 322 BC, came back to earth in 1832 to found their society. Students of history will know that the Greek general, Alexander the Great died in 322 B.C. and was buried in Memphis, Egypt, and that his body was dug up and reburied in the Gnostic capital of Alexandria. As it turns out, the home of Skull and Bones, on the campus of Yale, is a windowless structure built to look like a mausoleum (a tomb) in a Greco-Egyptian style.

Is Bush a Christian? Judge for yourself. At one stage in the ritual initiation of Skull and Bones the initiates must “lay naked in coffins and tell their deepest and darkest sexual secrets as part of their initiation.” (Esquire, September, 1976, p. 85). Satanic high priest Anton LaVey explains the significance of this in his book The Satanic Rituals: Companion to the Satanic Bible: “The ceremony of rebirth takes place in a large coffin... This is similar to the coffin symbolism that...is found in most lodge rituals.”[22] Curiously enough, during the 1988 Presidential Campaign, a TV reporter asked Vice-President George H. W. Bush Sr. (father of President George W. Bush) whether he was a Christian. Bush Sr. initially stammered, but then said, “if you mean born again, then, yes, I am a Christian.” Now, was that a misleading statement on the part of George Bush Sr.? Is he a Christian or just “born again” Bonesman?

Just to set the record straight, so that Christians don’t get confused about Bush’s “born again” lark: Skull and Bones believe that on the night of initiation, the initiate “dies to the world and [is] born again into the Order.… ”[23] When an initiate enters the coffin during his initiation, he is considered to have “died to self and to this world,” and born again into the Order. He is not born again in Christ.

Here is part of a 2000 interview (original transcript) given by the son, President George W. Bush Jr.:

TIME: But you [George W. Jnr.] sure shared a lot of the same upbringing: Andover, Yale, even Skull and Bones. Did you have any qualms, say, about joining an elite secret club like Bones?

Bush: No qualms at all. I was honored. I was fairly nonchalant. I didn’t view it as a great heritage thing. I didn’t take it all that seriously.

TIME: Demystify it a bit for those who might think it’s a cross between a Masonic Lodge and the Trilateral Commission. Did your father show up for your initiation, like your grandfather showed up for his?

Bush: Without revealing all the great secrets? I got a few of my old club mates who could demystify it right off the bat. My dad didn’t tap me. Someone a year ahead of me tapped me. There was an entry celebration. I can’t remember whether my dad showed up or not…. ”

Note that President Bush did not deny that Skull and Bones was a Masonic Lodge, rather he confirmed that he could not reveal “all the great secrets.” In fact that same 2000 interview, Bush said of his family’s historical involvement in Skull and Bones it is “my heritage; its part of who I am.” Indeed it is: his father, George H.W. Bush Sr. is also a “born again” member. Bush once said, to understand people you have to look at their family.

So, what exactly is Bush’s mission? “I’m here for a reason,” Bush told his chief political aide Karl Rove after the September 11 attacks.[24] Close friends of the President speak of his views in similar terms: “I think, in his frame, this is what God has asked him to do,” said one close friend.[25] One senior administration official said, “[Bush] really believes he was placed here to do this as part of a divine plan.”[26] The question is: what divine plan is he referring to, God’s or someone else’s? We can guess the answer from a statement that Bush made t wo years into his presidency: “The best way to honour Pope John Paul II… is to take his teaching seriously… and PUT HIS WORDS AND TEACHINGS INTO ACTION HERE IN AMERICA.”[27] Perhaps this explains what President Bush meant when three years later in 2004 he told the Knights of Columbus that he was their “friend in… administration,” and that together they would work “to change America”! Is President Bush a Catholic, you ask? Really, dear reader, you are far too inquisitive!

On March 23, 2001, a day after promising to put the pope’s teachings in to action in America, Bush was speaking at The Catholic University of America, and he reminded his audience that the former president of the Soviet Union had called the pope “the highest moral authority on earth.”[28] Why did Bush feel the need to remind his audience of this? Does Bush also regard the pope as “the highest moral authority on earth?

Perhaps Bush and the Russian President were referring to a papal statement made on July 18, 1870 by Pope Pius IX: “We declare it to be an article of faith that the Roman Pope possesses infallibility in any doctrine relating to faith and morals. If anyone shall oppose this our decision, which God forbid, let him be accursed.”

Intelligent reader, whenever you hear a man express such views, as freely as Bush does, you can be sure that he is either a Jesuit, a tool of the Jesuits or that he has been “poisoned by their maxims.” Take your pick, the conclusions are not far different. Bonesmen do not kiss the pope’s ring at their initiation ceremony for no reason!

The Belfast Telegraph, April 14, 2007 reported: “US President George W Bush will meet with Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican in June…. ” This meeting took place on June 25, 2007. Both men exchanged gifts. Why would the President of the United States of America go to Rome to kiss the ring of a mitred king of the Vatican? Bush had a “closed-door discussion” with Pope Benedict! As one of my acquaintances asked, “What did Bush and Benedict say to one another during those 35 minutes of privacy following the journalists’ departure from the Pope’s [private] library?” Equally fascinating is the significance of Benedict’s ‘message-packed’ gift to the U.S. commander-in-chief: a rare first edition of the autobiography of John Carroll of Baltimore. John Carroll was the first Catholic Archbishop of the United States and founder of the first Jesuit university in America—Georgetown University!

How profound of D. S. Phelan (a priest) to say, “The pope is the ruler of the world. All the emperors, all the kings, all the princes, all the presidents of the world are as these altar boys of mine.”[29] Why do you doubt this? Have we not seen photographic, video and Television images of three U.S. presidents kneeling in homage before the bier of Pope John Paul II.

Robert Higgs comments of the power of the pope: “Observing the many government leaders gathered at the Vatican for the funeral of Pope John Paul II, we might well have suspected that the world’s politico-military chieftains need what the Pope has more than the Pope needs what they have.”[30]

Above is the pictute of Bush Snr., along with his son President George W. Bush, his daughter-in-law, Laura, former President Bill Clinton, and Condi Rice, kneeling with hands clasped before the bier of Pope John Paul II.

This brings us back nicely to the question of why Bush said in his autobiography: “[in] My senior year (at Yale) I joined Skull and Bones, a secret society, so secret, I can’t say anything more.”[31] Why not? Is that not a fair question to ask, intelligent reader? Bill Cooper says it is because: “Members of the Order take an oath that absolves them from any allegiance to any nation or king or government or constitution, and that includes the negating of any subsequent oath, which they may be required to take. They swear allegiance only to the Order and its goal of a New World Order... according to the oath Bush took when he was initiated into Skull and Bones, his oath of office as President of the United States means nothing.”[32]

George W. Bush would have us believe that Skull and Bones is merely a footnote in his past: that he has had nothing to do with the Order after graduating from Yale. However, in 1971, “needing a job, Bush called a Bonesman, Robert H. Gow. Gow, who later told The Washington Post that his Houston-based agricultural company had not been looking for anyone at the time, hired Bush as a management trainee.” [33] “In 1977, when Bush formed Arbusto Energy, his first company, he applied to Skull and Bones for financial aid. With assistance from his uncle Jonathan Bush [a Bonesman], he lined up $565,000… One of them contributed $93,000—the venture capitalist William H. Draper III [also a Bonesman],” and “Twelve Bonesmen… gave a total of $35,500 to Bush’s 1998 gubernatorial campaign. At least forty-six Bonesmen… have given approximately $1,000 apiece to his presidential campaign—the maximum allowed by law.”[34]

If you are scratching your head wondering to whom members of Skull and Bones take their secret oath of allegiance, the answer is: the ‘unknown superiors’—the pope, Masonic heads of the Order, all of whom answer to Quixote. And since, as we have seen, Skull and Bones honours the pope and Jesuit General (in the figure of Don Quixote), then is it too much of a stretch to conclude that the allegiance of Skull and Bones is to the Pope? This also begs the question, how can the American people place their trust in a President who holds secrecy and concealment so dear? How can they be sure that Bush hasn’t taken an oath to the superiors of his Order which conflicts with his duties as President? Said President John F. Kennedy: “The very word ‘secrecy’ is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers, which are cited to justify it. No President should fear public scrutiny of his program.[35] Kennedy was assassinated!

So, in case you are still wondering why Bush “can’t say anything more” about Skull and Bones, perhaps it’s because he fears sharing the fate of President Kennedy. Or maybe it’s because as Plato said: “To assist in keeping up the deception, we will form secret societies and clubs… and so by fair means or by foul we shall gain our ends and carry on our dishonest proceedings with impunity.”[36]

Well said were the words of President Ulysses S. Grant: all secret, oath-bound, political parties are dangerous to any nation, no matter how pure or how patriotic the motives and principles which first bring them together.[37] For as Arkon writes, members of these secret societies seek to “gain financial and social power, and to place them at the disposal of the group,”[38] Indeed, as we have seen and shall yet see again, we have cause to fear the Jesuits and their acolytes (Bonesmen, Rhodes Scholars, Phi Beta Kappa, etc., etc.) whose sole aim is to place men in high office—as advisers to presidents, congressmen, senators, Whitehouse aides, and Supreme Court Judges—to further their secret oath-bound purposes.

Romish-Masonic FDR: "...the freedom of the Pope and of Vatican City is assured by the armies of the United Nations"

From The New York Times, June 6, 1944

Roosevelt Speaks

Says Rome's Fall Marks 'One Up and Two to Go' Among Axis Capitals

Warns Way Is Hard

Asks World to Give the Italians a Chance for Recovery

(excerpt)

Shrines Should Live, He Says

President Roosevelt saw considerable significance in the fact that Rome should be the first Axis capital to fall. He remarked its shrines, "visible symbols of the faith and determination of the early saints and martyrs that Christianity should live and become universal," and added that "it will be a source of deep satisfaction that the freedom of the Pope and of Vatican City is assured by the armies of the United Nations."

There is significence too, he added, in the fact that Rome was liberated by a composite force of soldiers from many nations.

Reviewing the military picture, the President pointed out that "it would be unwise to inflate in our own minds the military importance of the capture of Rome." He cautioned his auditors that while the Germans have retreated "thousands of miles" accross Africa and back through Italy, "they have suffered heavy losses, but not great enough yet to cause collapse."

"Therefore," he added, "the victory still lies some distance ahead. That distance will be covered in due time- have no fear of that. But it will be tough and it will be costly."

Pope Gives Thanks Rome Was Spared

Voices Appreciation to Both Belligerents in Message to Throng at St. Peter's

VATICAN CITY June 5- Pope Pius XIII appeared on the balcony of St Peters at 6 PM today to thank God that Rome had been spared from the ravages of war while before im in the densely packed square of St Peters the new broad Via Della Conciliazione tens of thousands of Romans cheered themselves hoarse.

It was the third time today that the Pontiff had shown himself to cheering crowds, as he had appeared twice at a window of his office this morning. But this was a solemn, sacred occasion and no one knowing anything about Pius XI can doubt the fervor of his thankfulness that Rome had been saved.

The Pontiff seemed strong and well and his voice carried far though ot was difficult to hear every word he said because of he crowd.

"We must give thanks to God for the favors we have reeived" said the Pope. Rome has been spared. This day will go down in the annals of Rome."

He went on to say he hoped that Italians would be worthy of the grace shown them and put aside hatred and all personal vendettas. He then thanked both belligerents - the Allies and Germany - for having left Rome intact.

After a prayer of thankfulness to the Blessed Virgin and Saints Peter and Paul, guardians, the Pontiff gave his blessing, "urb et orbis," as the immense crowd knelt before him.

[The AP estimated the crowd was between 250 and 500K].

The world has changed for Rome but the Vatican goes on imperturably as it has through so many other conquests in centuries gone by. It is neutral in fact and spirit. The Pope and all high officials went about their daily routines today as in the past. Except for the tanks and the amoured cars running in font of St Peter's one could never know what happened today.

Making East Europe Safe for Stalinism
and Ledochowski's westward shift of Poland
and displacement/erasure of Prussia

Dear Douglas,

the following might be of interest for you:
In the spring of 1943, Admiral Wilhelm Canaris, head of the German Secret Service, met with George Earle, the American Naval Attache in Istanbul, Turkey. Admiral Canaris came to discuss the surrender of the German armed forces. He reported that he had joined with other German leaders in an assassination plot to remove Hitler from power. After this was accomplished, they would take over the German government, and surrender to the Allies, with only one condition:

There must be no Soviet advance into Central Europe.

Mr. Earle sent President Roosevelt a note informing him of Canaris'
proposal.

He received no reply.

Earle tried again, and this time he received what has been termed a "brush-off" from President Roosevelt.

So Earle flew to Washington. Roosevelt told him that his concerns were overly anxious, that Germany would soon surrender after the planned attack commenced through Western Europe.

Earle was very disappointed, and returned to Istanbul. He advised Canaris of what he had learned, and he returned to Germany, where he and the other plotters against Hitler's life were found out and either hung or shot for their efforts to shorten the war and prevent the expansion of the Russians into Eastern Europe.4

If Roosevelt had accepted Canaris' offer: "... the war might have ended in 1943. Countless lives would in all probability have been saved, and, of greatest importance, the Allies wouldn't have supplanted one dangerous ideology with another. The Soviet hordes would have been stopped at the Polish border. The entire map of Europe would have been different."5

Earle returned to the United States. He wrote "I decided to make known some of my views and observations about the so-called allies, the Soviets, so as to wake up the American people about what was really going on. I contacted the President about it, but he reacted strongly and specifically forbade me to make my views known to the public. Then upon my requesting active duty in the Navy, I was ordered to Samoa, in the far-distant South pacific"6

In fact, Earle was warned by Roosevelt's daughter in a letter to him "... that if he carried out his outlined program of publicly criticizing and commenting on some of the Soviet moves, he could be adjudged guilty of treason."7

It is indeed unfortunate that the Roosevelts took this position on the "Soviet moves," the movement of Russian troops into the Eastern European countries as the war was ending, as evidenced by President Roosevelt's inaction in the Canaris case, and the letter of his daughter in the Earle case, because the citizens in these countries did not want the Russians to occupy their nations. This fact was made brutally apparent as millions of these patriots actually joined with the German armed forces in an attempt to keep the Russians from advancing into their respective countries.

So Roosevelt could have truly assisted these patriots in keeping their countries free of Communism by assisting the Canaris group, and Earle could have been of immense assistance in bringing these matters to the attention of the American people.

But it was not to be, and the Eastern European countries were occupied by the Russian Communists much to the chagrin of millions of patriots. Roosevelt continued his support of the Russian government as the war ended by guaranteeing their occupation of these nations by the agreements made at the wartime conferences with the major leaders of the Allied governments.

Ralph Epperson, The Unseen Hand, p.286-287
So it looks like there were two attempts to negotiate a surrender?

On the following pages more betrayals are decribed, like the unnecessary concessions made to Stalin by Roosevelt and Churchill at Yalta, and the betrayal of (orthodox) Russian soldiers (among them General Vlasov and his soldiers) and civilians in a forced repatriation during „Operation Keelhaul” approved by Roosevelt and Eisenhower.

I read somewhere that Admiral Canaris and General Rommel, both high-ranking victims of the Nazi regime, were both Protestants.

Best regards,
Oliver
