1892 - 1915 The New York Times

A curious development of the concept of 'the news fit to print'

SHOULD OLD POPE LEO DIE
The Political Tendencies of his Successor

The Cardinal who would probably win the prize- his Polish supporter – affairs in France and Germany – Spurgeon’s Return – Lord Lorne’s Appointment

By the commercial cable from our own correspondent

Copyrighted 1892 by the New York Times

LONDON, Jan. 23- This evil Winter of fogs, plagues and famine bids fair to be long remembered. We are being passed from funeral to funeral about as it were a time of war. While the effects of the general mourning and idleness during the young Duke’s burial on Wednesday and the solemnly ornate obsequies of the old Cardinal through the darkened noonday streets on Thursday are still resting like a pall on Thursday are still resting like a pall on the public spirits, Rome sends out tidings which read like a summons to the deathbed of the Pope. At this hour it is difficult to get at the exact truth in the conflicting dispatches received, but it is at least not re-assuring to learn that the Italian government has established a rigorous telegraphic censorship over all of the messages about the Pope’s condition.

Republics never get to realize by their own experiences that curious phase of Europe’s condition, where all sorts of changes in the political, social, and commercial life of nations are continually hanging contingent upon the death of some very old man. Republics use up their public men more rapidly, and those who survive are relegated to private life at an age when in England they would have arrived at a reasonable expectation of getting into the Ministry.

In Europe old men hang on till they die. The new generations wait with more or less politeness and patience for their departure and then rush in forcibly to drag everything forward to date. Four years ago it was old William whose remarkable longevity was keeping the whole Empire back in the reactionary shadows of Metternich’s time. Since then it has been Mr. Gladstone’s amazing strength and virility which have bodily held back the swelling tide of Radicalism from bursting forth and overwhelmingly the old Liberal party organization. Watching him has become such a hopelessly stale story, however, that it needs only a hint to divert the general attention of the Vatican, where untold things depend on the waning life of another aged man.

The Papacy since 1870 has been in a position where practically everything turns upon the personality of the Pontiff and his choice of advisers. There can be no more mediocre Popes under whose nominal guidance matters can go on in commonplace routine. Every successor of Peter now must make a big mark in the history of the Church, for good or bad. If he is not very strong, he will be found lamentably weak. There is no longer any middle course.

Leo has been one of the strong kind. His fourteen years of reign have been devoted to building a new sort of Papacy beside rather than upon the ruins of the old structure. Considering the great difficulties and obstacles in the way of his task, proceeding even more from within then without, the result is exceptionally successful. Perhaps the outcome of his labors is best defined by saying that he has shown
those who thought the Papacy need no longer be taken into account in the world’s affairs because Rome has been wrestled from it that they were profoundly mistaken. The Vatican to-day wields far greater influence in Europe than it has done since the French Revolution.

But it is a peculiarly personal influence. The next Pope will inherit only the opportunities of securing it for himself and failing to improve these will be vastly easier than success.

It seems to be taken for granted that Cardinal Raphael Monaco la Valetta will secure the succession. He is the doyen of the Sacred College and Secretary of the Inquisition - an amiable, unambitious priest of sixty-five, who has the very slenderest notions of or interest in the general European situation. He is extremely simple in his tastes, is not in the least stirred by all the great outside social and political problems with which Leo has striven to grapple with as a sacerdotal Tory. By temperament he always belonged to the conservative wing of the college. He will assume the tiara, if elected, as its representative and as opposed to the small liberal group headed by Cardinal Parocchi. If he stood by himself there would be no risk in predicting that his would be a reign under which the papacy would lose more prestige than Leo had gained for it.

It is very well understood, however, that Monaco is entirely under the control of Ledochowski, that proud, imperious, and able Pole who made Bismarck such worlds of trouble in the old Kulturkampf day and who has been able to impose his will very often upon even the present Pope. This powerful man was in a German prison when Pius IX created him a Cardinal in 1875.

Next year he was released and banished, and he has since lived in Rome, devoting his great wealth and talents to building up a militant Ultramontagne party about him. His wrath at the treatment he received at the hands of Bismarck has colored all his political views. He has hated both Germany and Italy and has looked un ceasingly forward to the time when French bayonets should restore the temporal power of the Vatican in the old Roman States.

If we assume that this spirited and resolute prelate will shortly be ruling the Church through its nominal head, it becomes a most anxious question how he will accept the existing political conditions of Europe which have so radically changed since 1875. The new rulers of the Germans have been at pains to show their desire to abolish the last traces of the Kulturkampf. When the pending Prussian Education bill is passed, the German Catholics will be actually stronger than they were before the May laws. During the last half year these dispatches have frequently reflected the new interest which William and his immediate entourage are displaying in the Polish question. Of course a good deal of this has arisen naturally from the contemplation of the necessity of sooner or later fighting Russia: but even more it represents the effort to allure Ledochowski into friendship with Germany by an appeal to his national sentiment. How far this has successor will be, as has been said, a most anxious question.

In any event under this new regime there would be an abrupt cessation of pastorals on Socialistic and labor problems and of poems about St. Thomas Aquinas. We should instead see the Vatican boldly embark upon the troubled waters of European diplomacy, seeking alliances and taking desperate risks upon the fortune in the next war. The outcome of this altered policy it is wholly impossible to foretell, but at least it does not bid fair to lie in the direction of an increased spirituality.

Today William has been receiving the new King and Queen of Wurtemberg at Berlin with ceremonial pomp equal to that bestowed upon the most important of foreign monarchs. In this characteristically exuberant fashion he marks the fact that the old King Charles hated Prussia, whereas the present ruler admires it. With this demonstration particularism may be said to have been buried in Germany. Wurtemberg’s soldiers are to abandon the old double-breasted coat for the Prussian government, and in the coming maneuvers the Bavarian and Wurtemberg corps are to work side by side for the first time in the empire with Prussian troops. Even Posen is being coaxed and conciliated into harmony with the rest of Prussia and furtively excited by rumors of a restored Poland being set up on her borders.

Poland itself is likely to furnish food for a sensation before the year closes. Her patriots have been for months planning to commemorate this hundredth anniversary of the great partition by wearing mourning and abstaining from all festivities during twelve months. Gen. Gourko, the brutal Satrap of Poland, got the leading Polish nobles together at his New Year’s reception and brusquely advised them to give up their intentions of not dancing this year, “it would be better,” he said, “for you to dance of your own free will than that I should make you dance.”

The Poles are however, obstinately wearing black and avoiding social services, and as a consequence the stories of persecution, arrests and a wholesale reign of terror which cross the border are more distressing than ever.

Russia is at last reluctantly recognizing her powerlessness this year to do anything but fight the famine. Alll projected measures against the Jews and foreigners and what little remains of the Liberator Czar’s reformed institutions have been in definitely postponed, and by all officialdom has been set at work to keep the demon of starvation at bay. No news comes out save of hunger and pestilence punctuated with official piracy and emphasized by grave popular turbulence.

In France, accordingly, one hears very little now about Russian friendship, and nobody feels impelled to sing a Russian hymn. Paris has suddenly discovered that foreign politics are uninteresting and has concentrated her attention upon an amusing blackguard Deputy named Laur, who serves as the exiled Rochefort’s mouthpiece in the campaign of revolting defamation against Minister Constans. The whole episode is distinctly of an Elysee-Montmartre oder- that is to say, it couldn’t happen anywhere else than in Paris. It is only there that one has journals daily charging a Minister with unmentionable crimes and the Minister publicly thumping the head of the Deputy while he reiterates these charges in the Tribune. But perhaps even this is better business than subscribing to Russian loans.

Poor little Portugal, after prolonged wriggles and wry faces, has at last swallowed an ugly dose, and is openly discussing the necessity of selling some of her colonies. The fateful proposition has been made in the Cortes, and the newspapers are approving it. What makes this final sacrifice of dignity still more terrible to national contemplation is the abiding fear that it will be made in vain and that no buyers will appear. Unhappily, it seems rather more probable that the big States will now take what they want without mooting the question of payment at all.

The epidemic called influenza shows no signs of abating, either here or on the Continent, one day this week the London Time’s advertising columns recording this unprecedented number of 157 deaths. Of these the age was given in over 100 cases and the average of these was sixty-two years. Everywhere it is noted that the mortality among aged people is phenomenal.

One other curious fact common to England, France and Germany is the special severity of the epidemic at the seaside. All the North Sea and Channel towns, from Konigsberg to Havre, have suffered much more than the inland places. Portsmouth and Brighton have led the English death rate lists. Outlying islands like man and the Scillies have been literally ravaged by the disease.

Perhaps there is a hint in this for scientists.

Mr. Spurgeon is recovering his health in the south so rapidly that he is expected now soon to return. The thanks offering of his parishioners will take the curios form of a thirty five hundred dollar hydraulic elevator from the floor of his church up to the pulpit, which is now being put in. No other gift would have been so accept able to the pastor, for he is increasingly fat and short of breath, and the exertion of climbing the pulpit stairs used often to induce faintness and vertigo.

Not all of the pathos of the recent royal bereavement was concentrated on the person of the young Princess May.

Her father must feel convinced at last that he was born to bad luck. He poor man has been entangled in a fringe of bankruptcy for twenty years and bullied by Parlia mentary reformers whenever royal grants came up, and sarcastically alluded to in the flippant papers as the Duke of Tick. Finally, when the gates of fortune opened and a golden vista dazzled his vision, he could have had hardly time to borrow interest on his debts before they were shut again with a slam. To make matters worse, he was to receive the fat sinecure of Governor of Windsor Castle, but now, so completely is his nose out of joint that the berth has been given to the Marquis of Lorne, who is not in the least need of it.

This probably marks Lord Lorne’s apogee in the official position. He is not likely to get into the House of Commons and will carry no weight when he succeeds his father in the Lords. His attempts to secure distinction as an author have been sad failures. His last look on Viecount Palmerston took him an unconscionable while to do, and then was so badly written that the publishers had to have it done over again by a hack, although Lord Lorne’s name alone appears.

The Spectator gives a long critical notice of the warm praise to the two latest volumes of Henry Adams “United States.”

Calls “Black Pope” Kaiser’s Tool
Special cable to The New York Times
[no author given]

PARIS, Feb. 13 -- The Laterne, which is generally considered to represent the views of the Socialist section of the Cabinet, alludes to the election of a new General of the Jesuits, saying, “It is ridiculous to try as has been attempted by certain Catholic newspapers to persuade the public that the Jesuits are Francophile. Father Ledochowski’s election shows clearly that their efforts, as they always have been, are in opposition to French liberalism. We predict the ‘New Black Pope’s” policy in one phrase: he will act according to the Kaisers [sic] orders.

History since demonstrates this was a freudian slip of deliberate disinformation over a very critical point- the view of the Kaiser, and by extension the Kaiser Reich.

God Must Dislike Mieczyslaw & Wlodimir Ledochowski’s Bloody Revenge for Bismarck’s Kulturkampf

as reflected by Poland's 2008 and 2010 electoral results

“God is cleansing Poland,”
he said.
“After this her [spiritual] light will shine on the world" - Maximilian Kolbe

From the blog “Strange Maps” of election results in Poland in 2008 and 2010

http://bigthink.com/ideas/21401

“Your map showing the electoral divide in Ukraine (#343) is quite interesting, and put me in mind of a similar one that I saw last year, that prompted me do a bit of map research,” writes David G.D. Hecht. “If you look at the Wikipedia article on the Polish legislative elections of 2007, there is a map there similar to the Ukrainian one. I looked at this map and thought, hmmm…where have I seen this divide before? Looks very familiar. This isn’t just some urban/rural, professional/worker, white-wine-and-brie/beer-and-sausages thing!”

Mr Hecht did some overlay work, and came up with this remarkable fit: “The divide between the (more free-market) PO and the (more populist) PiS almost exactly follows the old border between Imperial Germany and Imperial Russia, as it ran through Poland! How about that for a long-lasting cultural heritage?!?” How about: amazing, bordering on the unbelievable?

The Ukraine map isn’t the first example on this blog of electoral cartography showing older cultural divides. Map #330 demonstrates a correlation in the Southern US states between areas of intense cotton production in 1860 and counties voting for Obama in 2008. And map #108 shows the regional divides at issue in France during the 2007 presidential election. I am reminded of German artist Heinrich Böll (b. 1917 in Cologne), who once said that he could still sense the cultural difference between both banks of the Rhine, once the border between the Roman Empire and the barbarian hordes across the river.

The erasure of older borders doesn’t mean they totally disappear — the new map is a palimpsest, even if it sometimes has to be held up to the UV light of an election for those old, overwritten boundaries to reappear. But it is quite strange for an old border like the one between the Kaiser‘s Germany and the Czar‘s Russia to reappear on a Polish election map as recent as 2007. Poland has moved around the map of Europe quite a bit, most recently in 1945. Poland basically moved west, losing its eastern part to the Soviets and gaining the eastern part of Nazi Germany.

The losses and gains of territory were accompanied by huge movements of people, in numbers probably not seen since the Völkerwanderung at the collapse of the Roman Empire. Expropriated Germans moved west, as did Poles, who took their place. In the context of that momentous re-organising of the region’s ethnic composition, the palimpsest of the Imperial border, cutting Poland in half, seems improbable. And yet there it is, in an almost perfect fit. As I am not an expert in Polish politics, the history of Polish resettlement in the country’s new territories, or the putative phenomenon of cultural-historical anamnesis, I welcome all tentative explanations for this phenomenon.

Many thanks to Mr Hecht for producing and sending in this overlay map.

Meiczyslaw Ledochowski: of the devoutly Roman Catholic ‘Noble’ Ledochowski family, born October 29, 1822, who in December 1865 became Archbishop of Poznań and Gniezno and Primate of Poland (both cities then a part of the Prussian Province of Posen), and a figure famous for his conflict with Bismarck’s Prussia stance against the Roman Catholic Church’s political power following Pope – declaration of papal infallibility, and who was famously jailed by Bismarck’s government for nearly 24 months.

Accordingly, M Ledochowski became an increasingly potent influence at the Vatican:
“He spent two full years in prison before being liberated and sentence to exile, and he then proceeded to Rome where he lived as the honored guest, first of Pius IX and then of Leo XIII, exercising a potent influence at the Vatican. So much so, indeed, that before Bismarck would consent to a cessation of the so-called Culterkampf, he insisted that Cardinal Count Ledochowski should leave Rome and cease to be a member of the Pope’s immediate entourage.”
According to The New York Times, January 23, 1892, M Ledochowski was vengeful:

We should instead see the Vatican boldly embark upon the troubled waters of European diplomacy, seeking alliances and taking desperate risks upon the fortune in the next war.
It was this vengeful and increasingly powerful Vatican official who became an increasingly important figure in the upbringing of his nieces and nephews following the death of his brother Antonil Ledochowski from small pox that he contacted from visiting his eldest daughter Marie Theresa in 1885. And it was the time that Maria Theresa, the second daughter Ursula, and the third sibling (and the first son) Wlodimir devoted their lives to the Roman Catholic Church.

Wlodimir, who eventually became the Jesuit Superior General, reportedly had a devotion dating back to his childhood regarding his uncle Mieczyslaw’s imprisonment by Bismarck’s Prussian led new 2nd Reich established in 1871:

From a Baltimore newspaper April 17, 1915
“When the new Black Pope was yet a lad he witnessed the persecution and imprisonment of his uncle, the late Cardinal Ledochowski , who had estates in German Poland, and whom Bismarck regarded with mingled fear and hatred of the persecuted Poles in Germany”

The idea of Germany’s ultimately being set up for defeat was in line with the Pope (with his doctrine of 'papal infallibility"):
On January 18th, 1874 -- thus on the anniversary of the founding of the German Reich -- he declared at an assembly of international pilgrims that Bismarck was the serpent in the paradise of mankind. This serpent seduced Germans into wishing to be more than god himself. Such an over extension of the human self would be followed by a humiliation such as no people had ever before tasted!

Only the Eternal one knew whether or not the grain of sand on the mountains of eternal retribution had already been released.

This retribution was growing to avalanche proportions and it would rush in a few years at the clay feet of this Reich and transform it into ruins. This Reich, which, like the tower of Babel, had been erected in defiance of god, would pass away to the glory of god.
Such Papal sentiment, resentful and vengeful, given the subsequent history, apparently flowed to Mieczyslaw’s nephew Wlodimir Ledochowki:

From Tupper Saussy:
http://continuingcounterreformation.blogspot.com/2007/06/wlodimir-vladimir-ledochowski-according.html
Wlodimir Ledochowski was a Polish aristocrat who by 1906 had demonstrated such exceptional skills in international diplomacy that Jesuit Superior General Franz Xavier Wernz (under whose tutelage Pacelli had done his prost graduate research in canon law) appointed him Consultor General for Germany, Austria-Hungary, Russia, Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, and Poland, as well as Belgium and the Netherlands.

“Consultor General” is the equivalent of a cabinet post. It empowered Ledochowski to lace the future of his nations with alliances that lay buried like so many land-mines. This is not an unusual feat for a Jesuit strategist. Indeed, the Society of Jesus (which is the pope’s private CIA and veritable Mother of Spies) is renowned for “Orthelloizing” nations- setting them up for mutual destruction, as when Othello’s trusted but treacherous advisor Iago gloats to the audience, “Now whether he kills Cassio or Cassio him, or each do kill the other, every way makes my gain.”

(It’s foolish, in my opinion, not to suspect a covert military strategist of anything he has the authority, means, and requirement to do. To ignore him is to be conquered by his strategy, which is usually to foster ignorance of his most decisive operations.

Triggering World War

Most historians agree that the first World War was triggered by the Serbian Concordat of June 1914. Eugenio Pacelli was the Concordat's acknowledged author, but Vladimir Ledochowski had authority, means, and requirement to ghost it.

The Serbian Concordat promised (a) Vatican support of Serbia's liberation from Roman Catholic Austria-Hungary, while (b) pitting Roman Catholic evangelism against the Serbian state religion, Eastern Orthodoxy, a faith that denies the supremacy of the Roman papacy.

Such a policy was sure to provoke belligerency between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, just as Jesuit military strategy created enmity between America and Great Britain to incite a Revolution that resulted in the world's first republic governable by Roman Catholic laypersons. The underlying purpose of the Serbian Concordat, like the Declaration of Independence, was to restructure the world according to the requirements of Rome. What those requirements were we shall learn presently.

Four days after Eugenio Pacelli signed the Concordat, a Serbian terrorist assassinated the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne. Within weeks, nations with no more reason to make war than the alliances they had signed began outfitting their respective soldiery for what looked like Armageddon.

The Purpose of World War I

Immediately upon assuming his Generalate, Vladimir Ledochowski fled Rome (Austria, after all, was now at war with Italy) and set up office with two assistants in his mother's castle at Zizers, Switzerland. In 1917, Ledochowski invited Mathias Erzberger, a deputy from the German Catholic Center party, to Zizers for a secret meeting.

Erzberger later reported to friends that the General had persuaded him to support a strategy of destroying the unified Reich under the Protestant Kaiser Wilhelm II in order to bring the Catholic nations of central and eastern Europe together in a pan-German federation under a charismatic dictator charged with subduing the communist menace from the east. Dr. Hans Carossa, documenting the deputy's fact patterns after Zizers, observed that “Every political maneuver that Erzberger has engaged in since his discussion with the Jesuit General has only served to advance this Jesuit political strategy.” (Manfred Barthel, The Jesuits, William Morrow, p. 254-5)

Means A: The Lusitania

As much as Ledochowski needed to mobilize America against Germany, America was disinterested in European events. In fact, President Woodrow Wilson repeatedly declared that Europe's calamities were of absolutely no concern to Americans. But soon after Ledochowski ensconced in Zizers (locals pronounce it "Caesar's"), things started going his way. A German submarine sank the RMS Lusitania off the coast of Ireland with 128 Americans aboard. This act, wrote Jim Marrs in his study of clandestine governments (Rule By Secrecy, HarperCollins, 2000), “set off a firestorm of anti-German feeling throughout the United States, fanned by the Rockefeller-[J.P.] Morgan dominated press.” Marrs added that “Morgan was the Rothschilds' American representative—some say partner.” The house of Rothschild is bound by fiduciary duty to facilitate the Jesuit General's needs. According to Encyclopedia Judaica, the Rothschilds are “Guardians of the Vatican Treasury.” The Rothschild press used the Lusitania to foment hatred among Americans toward “the hideous Hun.” But a stunt even more dramatic was needed to secure a declaration of war.

Means B: The Zimmerman Telegram

War resulted from the famous Zimmerman Telegram, which the Rothschild press sensationally published in America on March 1, 1917. In the telegram, supposedly decoded by British interceptors, German foreign minister Arthur Zimmermann proposed to the German ambassador in Mexico a German-Mexican alliance against the United States in which Germany would support the Mexican recapture of territory in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico.

A German official talking secretly of invading Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico brought the war suddenly home

Normally, when the alleged proponent of such an explosive notion—true or not—is asked for verification, he follows good diplomatic form and categorically denies responsibility. Not Arthur Zimmermann. At a Berlin news conference on March 3rd, a reporter for the Hearst papers—which columnist George Seldes terms "the most pro-Catholic press in America”—caught Zimmermann's attention and stated: “Of course Your Excellency will deny this story.” Zimmermann replied, “I cannot deny it. It is true.”

Is this a script, or what?

Zimmermann's inexplicable admission (and shamefully unprofessional, unless done in obedience to the General or the Rothschilds) gave President Wilson no alternative but to ask Congress for precisely what Vladimir Ledochowski desired: a declaration that a state of war existed with Germany

Congress complied on April 6, the Guardians of the Vatican Treasury cranked out the credit (through the Rothschilds' brand new Federal Reserve), and over the next year and a half, more than 364,000 American lives were sacrificed (out of 4,355,000 mobilized) to Ledochowski's objective of destroying the Reich and replacing its Protestant Kaiser with a charismatic dictator.

Came Armistice Day, November 11, 1918, the Reich was devastated . The Kaiser had fled for the safety of Holland.

Power-drunk from overthrowing czarist Russia, Bolshevik mobs flying red flags overran Bavaria. All Munich's diplomatic legations returned to their home countries. The Vatican nunciature alone remained.

On June 28, 1919, the Allies presented the Treaty of Versailles for Germany to sign. The Diktat, as Germans called it (“dictated peace”), only perfected their devastation—forcing them to accept sole responsibility for the war, ripping great chunks of territory away from the Reich, and reducing German naval and military power to practically nil.

The moment had arrived for the introduction of Vladimir Ledochowski's “charismatic dictator."

He entered history at 15 Brienner Strasse late one blustery night during the winter following the Diktat...

Mission Accomplished

Sister Pascalina recalled the moment for her biographers, Paul Murphy and Rene Arlington (La Popessa, Viking, 1983).

The nunciature was asleep. Pascalina heard knocking at the door. She answered to find a young Austrian soldier standing there, a corporal and a Catholic, bearing a letter of introduction from a leading Bavarian politician citing him for acts of bravery during the war.

Pascalina issued the young man into the sitting room and awoke Archbishop Pacelli. Their meeting went fast. The soldier vowed to check the spread of atheistic communism in Munich and elsewhere.

Pascalina heard Pacelli say, “Munich has been good to me, so has Germany. I pray Almighty God that this land remain a holy land, in the hands of Our Lord, and free of communism.”

She then saw Pacelli give the soldier “a large cache of Church money to aid the rising revolutionary and his small, struggling band of anticommunists.”

“Go, quell the devil's works,” the archbishop told him. “Help spread the love of Almighty God.”

Sister Pascalina never forgot the young soldier's face or his name—Adolf Hitler.

Wlodimir Ledochowski, 26th Jesuit Superior General,
Polish paternal lineage, maternal Swiss-Austrian lineage

Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto (Pope Pius X),
Italian, part Polish,
b.June 2, 1835 - d. August 20, 1914

The circumstances of Wlodimir Ledochowski’s ascent to the Black Papacy -- namely the statistically unlikely day apart sudden deaths of his predecessor, 25th Jesuit Order Superior General Franz Wernz, and Pope Pius X in August 1914, just weeks after WWI’s outbreak -- suggests a power struggle by an entity with a deeper counter reformation agenda, perhaps too extreme for some within the Vatican to support, and hence cloaked.

That war would end with, amongst other things, the re-emergence of the Polish state after being wiped off the map in 1795. Perhaps Wlodimir Ledochowski enticed Wernz and Pius X with the idea of what became WW1 with Germany defeating Russia and hence liberating the part of Poland under Russian rule, with the secreted idea of Germany then being defeated in order to give Posen (Poznan) back to Poland.

Yet other goals, consistent with the idea of extending Rome’s power, though perhaps too extreme for others to support, would require a second such war. Hence say Ledochowski would plan WW1 with such people, he would not rely upon their support for such a second such agenda stage, and hence have to have both killed to pursue his goals as the 26th Jesuit Order Superior General via his 20th century continuation of the counter reformation. As such, Wlodimir Ledochowski continued with steering nations during WWI.

From Frank O’Collins
http://one-evil.org/people/people_20c_Ledochowski.htm
Few have probably heard of this Jesuit Superior General. But this man, more than any other can claim something so evil, few can match it- in being the brains behind the starting of not one, but two world wars- WWI and WWII. History books in large part deliberately misdirect us to the actual starting events and following up battles of war, the heroes, the villains and who eventually wins.
But as many readers know, war is much more than simply killing people- it is also about making money- financing war and building weapons as it is about power- who loses control and infrastructure – who changes the influence of cultures and other religions. World War I was as much about the War of Princes vs the Jesuits, then its timing and results make sense. Prior to World War I, the European monarchies were back on the ascendancy. But these same royal families were the ones who destroyed the Jesuits in the 18th Century. The Jesuits had never forgotten, nor had the Papacy against the intrusion into Papal affairs of a more confident ruling class.
It was Ledochowski who played an instrumental part in helping arrange the chess board so that by the end of World War I, many of the Catholic and Protestant Monarchies were destroyed. But his most elaborate evil was to be seen in the meticulous events leading up to World War II. In finding a close ally in Pope Pius XII, the Papacy and Jesuits for the first time in three hundred years become once again as one- planning the total destruction of the remaining power of Protestantism in Europe- the last war of Reformation.

A slice of Europe Illustration: Religious Situation in Central Europe
about a century after the start of Martin Luther’s Reformation
(Calvinists RED; Lutherans PINK; Roman Catholics BLUE)

It was Ledochowski’s Roman Catholic religious war, as I initially posted in June, 2007:
Target certain groups of people, such as people who are educated, Jewish, Orthodox or Protestant, particularly Lutherans from eastern Germany.

Set up a chain of events culminating in bloody wars targeting all of these groups, with 10s if not 100s of millions of deaths. In other words, figure out an evil gigantic game of pinball if you will.

Set this into motion by setting up evil governments, government entities and government leaders, particularly the 3rd Reich, the SS and Adolph Hitler, and the USSR and the KGB and Joseph Stalin.

Make sure that key events, along with all of the major players, are manipulated for the desired outcome, including perhaps even your fellow Jesuits, who may not necessarily know your objective[s].

In this case of geo political religious chessboard, that meant a Germany starting a brutal war against civilians, which it would lose.
Indeed, note the timing of Wlodimir Ledochowski’s death, on Decmeber 13, 1912- a mere 24 days after the war turned at Stalingrad with the start of the USSR counteroffensive on November 19, 1942, with reports of him having gastro-intestinal difficulties.

Though written in 1934 for his spiritual soldiers of the far flung Militia, an article entitled “Our War” sums up the message that consumed so much of Kolbe’s energy between 1936 and 1939. In it he says:

Don’t set out to do your own works for God, however great these might be, but give yourself humbly into his hands to do his works.

Accept all that happens as his will, including the sufferings he permits (not causes) you to undergo at the hands of evil men, knowing that even these will mysteriously enrich you.

As embers of the spiritual army fighting under the generalship of Mary, give yourself to God through service to her. To be one in will with Mary of the great fiat, the only human being whose will has never deviated by her choice from God’s, is to be perfectly united to the will of God. And it is this alignment of your will with his that is the pressing business of your life.

Offering yourself totally to God, let him transform you into a knight of love who, with others, will conquer the whole world, not in the sense of capturing it, but of freeing it.

He ends this article by saying that when each Militia member is “set aflame with the fire of divine love (I repeat we are not talking here of sweet tears and feelings, but if the will) … melted (and) fused to God … we will melt the whole world and each individual in it with love.”

And at p 107:

Brother Arnold may be right in thinking that Father Maximilian, in talking about his mystical experience in Japan, was buoying his own spirits. Equally possible is that he was trying to prepare Brother Arnold for those moments – and beyond them – when the distraught young secretary would try to follow his spiritual father into the Gestapo’s car.

Brother Cyprian said Father Maximilian’s “seraphic and ardent” love of God was visible in his conversation and in the conferences he gave the Brothers. Certainly it was this love that permitted him to look at Poland’s tragedy as others could not. In March 1938, before most people thought of a war, he had said to the Brothers:

During the first centuries, the Church was persecuted. The blood of martyrs watered the seeds of Christianity. Later, when the persecutions ceased, one of the Fathers of the Church deplored the lukewarm ness of Christians. He rejoiced when persecutions returned. In the same way, we must rejoice in what will happen, for in the midst of trials our zeal will become more ardent. Besides, are we not in the hands of the Blessed Virgin? Is it not our most ardently desired ideal to give our lives for her? We live only once. We die only once. Therefore, let it be according to her good pleasure. [!!!]

Once war came, he did not change his tune:

“God is cleansing Poland,” he said. “After this her [spiritual] light will shine on the world.”

According to Richard Whitehall's page 95 cite of the book

"Rex Germanorum, Populos Sclavorum: An Inquiry into the Origin & Early History of the Serbs/Slavs of Sarmatia, Germania, & Illyria" by Ivo Vukcevich
"In World War II, it should be noted, Moslem leaders placed the blame the crusading war and genocide against the Serbs and the chaos in Bosnia squarely on the shoulders of the Austro-Polish 'Black Pope,' Wladimir Ledochowski, Superior General of the Jesuits, who, perhaps inspired by deranged visions of a divine Polish mission, appears to have supported Roman Catholic crusade against schismatics in eastern and southeastern Europe."

Indeed, with the entities he created, such as the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, Ledochowski created an endowing legacy.
http://continuingcounterreformation.blogspot.com/2007/12/wlodimir-vladimir-ledochowski-era-no.html

There seemed, indeed, during those years of Ledochowski, Pope Pius XI, and Pius XII, no real limit to what both Jesuitism and overall Roman Catholicism could achieve. Even – especially, we should say – in the afterglow of Ledochowski’s long reign and into the Generalate of his successor, Belgian Jean-Baptise Janssens, the magic power of momentum seemed to continue.

P 221 The Jesuits: The Society of Jesus and the Betrayal of the Roman Catholic Church

Dr. Nicholas Murray Butler, who met Father Ledochowski in 1930, wrote later that "everyone in Rome I was told that Father Ledochowski would rank as one of the two or three greatest heads of the Jesuit Order," an estimate which would group him with such men as Ignatius Loyola, [April 19, 1541 to July 31, 1556] the first [Jesuit] general, Francisco Borgia, [July 2, 1565 to October 1, 1572] the third, and [Claudius] Aquaviva, [Feb 19, 1581 to Jan 31, 1615] the fifth.

And according to Malachi Martin:

http://continuingcounterreformation.blogspot.com/2007/09/wlodimr-vladimir-ledochowski-last-of.html

It was during the twenty-seven year Generalate of Father Wlodzimierz Ledochowski (1915-1942) that the traditional character of the Society received the firmest stamp and clearest definition since the Generalate of Claudio Acquaviva in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. One might even say that Ledochowski insisted on fidelity to the structure of Jesuit obedience, was an almost merciless disciplinarian, and maintained a stream of instructions flowing out to the whole Society about every detail of Jesuit life and Ignatian ideals. He know exactly what Jesuits should be according to the Society’s Constitutions and traditions; and under strong hands of two quite authoritarian Popes, Pius XI and Pius XII, he reestablished the close ties that had once linked papacy and Jesuit Generalate. Ledochowski, in fact, gave renewed meaning to that old Roman nickname of the Jesuit Father General, “the Black Pope. Just as Pius XII can be described as the last of the great Roman Popes, so Ledochowski can be called the last of the great Roman Generals of the Jesuits.

That he remains such an obscure figure, ignored usually even by the Jesuits is consistent with the unpleasantness of the reality.

California Official's $800,000 Salary in City of 38,000 Triggers Protests

By Christopher Palmeri - Jul 20, 2010

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-07-20/california-official-s-800-000-salary-in-city-of-38-000-triggers-protests.html

Hundreds of residents of one of the poorest municipalities in Los Angeles County shouted in protest last night as tensions rose over a report that the city’s manager earns an annual salary of almost $800,000.

An overflow crowd packed a City Council meeting in Bell, a mostly Hispanic city of 38,000 about 10 miles (16 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles, to call for the resignation of Mayor Oscar Hernandez and other city officials. Residents left standing outside the chamber banged on the doors and shouted “fuera,” or “get out” in Spanish.

It was the first council meeting since the Los Angeles Times reported July 15 that Chief Administrative Officer Robert Rizzo earns $787,637 -- with annual 12 percent raises -- and that Bell pays its police chief $457,000, more than Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck makes in a city of 3.8 million people. Bell council members earn almost $100,000 for part-time work.

City Attorney Edward Lee said the council members couldn’t discuss salaries in public without advance notice. The council then adjourned for a private session. About an hour later, the council members returned, and Hernandez read a statement saying the city would prepare a report on the salaries and seek public comment at the next council meeting, scheduled for Aug. 16.

Residents shouted in protest. Lee said he would have the room cleared if people continued to speak out of line. Police Chief Randy Adams said the fire department wanted to end the meeting because the crowd outside was blocking the door.

Easing Tensions

Then, in what appeared to be an effort to ease tensions, Hernandez announced that the meeting to discuss salaries would be held instead on July 26.

After the meeting, Bell resident Ali Saleh read a statement from a newly formed group called the Bell Association to Stop the Abuse. He called for an independent audit of city salaries and contracts.

On July 1 Bell took control of many of the city functions of neighboring Maywood, a city whose council members voted to contract out almost all services. Saleh also asked that Bell stop that process until the city’s salary investigations were resolved.

Bell has sold two general obligation bond issues totaling $50 million in the past six years, according to prospectuses for the bonds and information in the city’s annual financial statement for 2009. In that time, its debt has risen to $1,972 per capita in 2009 from $599 in 2004, according to its annual financial statement.

Inquiry Under Way

The city’s personal income was $24,800 per capita in 2008, according to its financial statement. That compares with an average of $32,819 nationwide, according to 2010 figures from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Bell’s general fund revenue declined 4.6 percent to $14.1 million for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2009, according to the city’s financial statement. The city’s expenses rose 2.3 percent to $15.9 million in same period.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has begun an inquiry into Bell council member pay, according to Dave Demerjian, head of the office’s Public Integrity Division. He said Bell council members were receiving $8,083 a month, mostly by serving on city-related commissions.

“We’re reviewing the council member salaries to see if they conform to state law,” Demerjian said in a telephone interview.

California law limits the salaries of council members to several hundred dollars a month, depending on the size of the city, according to Hector De La Torre, a state assemblyman from nearby South Gate, who sponsored legislation in 2005 that limits how much council members can get paid from other city-related assignments to $150 a month.

‘Obscene Pay’

De La Torre said that after his bill was passed, Bell’s City Council voted to operate under its own charter, rather than adhere to state laws on how cities should be run.

“It seems obscene to me,” De La Torre said in a telephone interview. “People making $30,000 a year are paying taxes so that their council members can make $80,000.”

Adams, Bell’s police chief, said in an interview after the council meeting that he had retired as chief of police in the much larger city of Glendale, California, when Bell officials approached him.

“I told them they would have to pay me what I was making in retirement and the $165,000 I would make as chief of police,” Adams said.

Adams said he had been brought in to end corruption in Bell’s police department.

“Some of the former members of this force are in the federal penitentiary,” he said.

‘Streets Are Cleaner’

Hernandez, the mayor, defended the salaries in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“Our streets are cleaner, we have lovely parks, better lighting throughout the area, our community is better,” Hernandez said, according to the newspaper. “These things just don’t happen, they happen because he had a vision and made it happen.”

Carmen Avalos, the city clerk in South Gate, said she attended the Bell council meeting to help educate people about the political process.

“This is what we are trying to avoid,” she said in an interview at the meeting. “The lack of fiduciary responsibility, the lack of transparency.”

We Americans, for the most part, are extremely "history-challenged"

Secret societies operate through intelligence agencies

http://keybreakthrough.blogspot.com/2009/11/secret-societies-operate-through.html

02/28'07 Vyzygoth interviews Darryl Eberhart on Beyond The Grassy Knoll

Darryl) And then just the last couple of years, I all of the sudden decided to discover that there was a real superpower behind the scenes, orchestrating things in the religious world, in the financial world, in the geopolitical world, and of course, that's what I have recently termed the "Vatican-Papacy-Jesuits-Knights of Malta cabal". And I believe they are the real real powers behind most of the powerful governments in the world, clearly with the Roman Catholic religion over a billion adherents and with super financial stockholdings etc. through their fabulously rich Knights of Malta. So by far, they are the biggest people out there. […]

Keith V-Goth) What I find people having a hard time with is the fact that this could be so perversive. And they still have a hard time believing it because of the PR that comes out of the Vatican etc. [...] The government, you know, they are not our friends. At the behest of the listener, I put up on my homepage links to three New York Times stories that tell you, the FBI was involved, you could say, and also pulled off the 1993 World Trade Tower Bombings, okay? There is three stories out there, straight from the New York Times, and they implicate themselves, they convict themselves. […] This is only the beginning of it, it's not all the FBI's fault. But the fact is, we have a problem: Our government is not our advocate, it's our adversary. […]

Darryl) The way to control governments is to bribe people, to give them money, to give them power and sexual favors. And I think, a lot of Congressmen in the past and probably to this very day, the new ones they come in, they get them in compromising position. Basically, secret societies operate through intelligence agencies. I think, we hung up on this idea of 'oh, all the CIA couldn't be bad, or all the FBI couldn't be bad, or all the national security agencies couldn't be bad – no one can pull of a conspiracy without a whole lot of people knowing.' Well, can I give him a little bit of my background? And I'll tell him why they can do that.

Keith) Absolutely.

Darryl) I spent 26 years in the intelligence community. I had a Top Secret Special Intelligence Clearance that entire time. I was at the top of my profession as a technician – eleven and a half of that was in the old U.S. Air Force Security Service. I learned Russian and Arabic languages. I was a linguist, a traffic analyst, and a reporter in the Air Force. And then I spent eight and a half years in what would be the army's equivalent to that: the old army security agency – military intelligence. And then I worked six years for the National Security Agency, after I retired from the military. And the reason that they're able to pull so many things off is, that within those intelligence communities, where you have people with top secret clearances, everything is on a need-to-know basis, and it's very compartmentalized, so that you could be in one room and the room down the hall you can't get in despite all your Top Secret Special Intelligence Clearances, because it's on a strict need-to-know basis. But the key thing is that most of the people in the CIA, the FBI, the NSA are good, red-blooded, patriotic Americans who are working hard to do their job, especially during the Cold War that they were fighting against Communism and America's enemies. And they are at the bottom, they have no idea – just like a secret society: they are at the bottom, they are popping information up, and the people at the top feed off that information, correlate it, provide it to whom they will, keep what information from whom they don't want it to get to, and that's the way they are able to control things. The Kennedy Assassination is a beautiful picture of that because you have Knights of Malta all over the intelligence community.

The FBI Assistant Director Cartha DeLoach for the FBI was the liaison to the Warren Commission. Then the CIA liaison to the Warren Commission was another Roman Catholic military order Knight of Malta James Jesus Angleton. So any information going back and forth between the Warren Commission, which is an interesting commission, had some of Kennedy's enemies on it like Allen Dulles () also a lot of top-level Freemasons were at the heads of these organizations. So again, you don't have to have all of your people in these organizations, all you have to do is have them at key choke points, key leadership positions, like Angleton was the head of the CIA's counter-intelligence – probably just as powerful as the head of the CIA – for like decades. He also set the Vatican desk, he set the Israel desk, but the key thing was: he was the liaison to the Warren Commission. So that any information going back and forth between them were handled by a couple of Roman Catholic military order Knights of Malta and, of course, you had Roman Catholic Knights of Malta involved in other areas [...] they're all over the map in the intelligence community.

Keith) Would it be fair to say that, when you do have sort of black bag operatives in the intelligence communities, that they are necessarily there because of their membership in a secret society?

Darryl) I think, if they get into any of a top position, they are either in the secret society or they're being controlled by the secret societies, whether it's through, like I said, sexual gifts, whether they give them monetary gifts ... If somebody that's either in, with them, or totally controlled by them, you're not going to be in a powerful position – I don't think – and last very long. John Kennedy is the perfect example. If you start to bug the system, they're going to either try to buy you off, give you something special, or bribe you if they know of sexual indiscretions etc., and if none of that works very quickly ... if you very powerful, very high up, that you might reveal secrets or break up like Kennedy was going to do break up the CIA into a thousand pieces, especially take the black ops from them and transfer it over to the Pentagon, then they're going to kill you. And most likely they will kill you. [...] I think, John Kennedy, and Bobby, and a few others were really trying to run stuff out of the White House, and when they started to go against some of their advisers, when he started to print money outside of the Federal Reserve, when he decided to shut down he war in Vietnam, there were just to many powerful interests in the background that decided, 'hey, he is double-crossed, thus he has got to go.'
Keith) Do you wonder if the old man hadn't taken a very debilitating stroke at the end of '61, if he would allowed those to – perhaps what I would say – 'go rogue'?
Darryl) That who had that debilitating stroke?

Keith) Joseph Kennedy

Darryl) Oh! I heard from some folks that when they said, 'your boy's got to go,' that he just nodded his head. There has been several books written about his ties with Sam Giancana and others. Joseph Kennedy – he was the mob.

Keith) Of course the fiction work which I don't think it's fiction, obviously, and the name excapes me – I think it's also the individual who wrote The Manchurian Candidate () which heavily, heavily innervates that the father knew, it was the price of doing business.
Darryl) Exactly.

Another example of good patriotic Americans, you have like Navy Seals or Special Forces that are sometimes ... especially Special Forces – I don't know if you ever had Lt. Colonel Daniel Marvin on?

Keith) No.

Darryl) He was asked to kill Lt. Commander William Bruce Pitzer [...] and he was trying to get that information out to the public, thus he had a Top Secret Clearance as Navy Lieutenant Commander, and so Marvin, Colonel ... he was then a Captain of Special Forces was asked to take him out at the Bethesda Naval Hospital. He refused because he said, you know, 'Special Forces are only used to assassinate people overseas, and you guys use the CIA here, in the U.S. I'm not gonna do it.' Well, they asked another captain and I think, he might have been the one Special Forces' Captain that killed him. But the point I'm trying to get here is that they were saying that Pitzer, Lieutenant Commander William Bruce Pitzer at the Bethesda Naval Hospital, was gonna tell secrets to the Soviets, so, you know, 'you need to kill this guy!' And that's how they get good patriotic people like Special Forces () to assassinate one who's actually a guy trying to bring important information to the American people or to reveal evil that's going on within government. And they ask a guy that's been highly-trained in assassination technics () sniper etc., 'hey, you need to kill this guy because he's selling secrets.' So, you can see, how it works. They can get a good patriotic American to kill another good patriotic American by lying to him. And that's very sad, but that's going on.

Keith) Whenever people talk about ... You know, I'm not saying people. I mean, when Wilcox, yourself, Phelps, Tom Richards, when we have discussed, or/and they had written about the Vatican and the Jesuits, everybody says, 'oh wow, they can't be into everything.' But they certainly are, I mean, their diguise is a one that nobody thinks they are capable of it, because there are supposedly ecclesiastically into, that they could have such an expansive and efficient organization. But I also want to mention one other thing: (And we had a gentleman on here () by name of Greg, who has a website that kind is devoted to occult history: http://rochester92.vox.com, and Greg if you're listening, you can be insulted by this as well.) I'm gonna to have another guest on, who are really starting to bother me with his tone. And if he's listening today, he probably won't come on, because I'm directing it to him. And that is, he writes me an email saying he will come on the show – he said, 'but my own views are very different from those who focus on the Illuminati, Freemasons and such distractions and trivia.' Well, I would love to send him back a very measured email. Because this is the kind of "locked head" that is out there, that makes so many of these things happen. This also includes people not believing that the Vatican, the Jesuits, and – as you said before – the Knights of Malta can be involved in this stuff. But now, having set that all up, there is a hierarchy! And when you mention this along with the temporal coadjutors, you're looking at a framework, so that when you mention this, it involves all this but it makes others think perhaps that we've gone loony. Your take.

Darryl) Yeah, the reason for that is, and it's very sad, and to some American I can say this: We Americans, for the most part, are extremely "history-challenged". Not only do we know very little about real church history, not only do we know very little about european history, world history, but we know very little about true American history. I ran into Europeans, Keith, when I was over in Germany and other places, that knew far more about American history than a lot of Americans do. And I talked to you earlier about this: we need to be doing more reading. You mentioned about the Jesuits – most people they can't just believe that the Jesuits are that powerful. Let me just give you a couple of quotes here. You know, a lot of people try to blame it on the Jews, to blame it on Freemasons, and it's just like I said, the last couple of years, every stone I started turning over, I started finding Jesuits, Knights of Malta, which is controlled and co-located with the Jesuit Order, involved in almost any key assassination of heads of state, important ones and throughout history, involved in fomenting wars like WW I and WW II. So here is that great quote. It's by a Canadian historian, J.E.C. Shepherd, and if the Jesuits aren't so powerful and so bad, then why would a quote like this be made.

Between 1555 and 1931, the Society of Jesus was expelled from at least 83 countries, city states and cities, for engaging in political intrigue and subversive plots against the welfare of the State, according to the records of a Jesuit priest of repute [i.e., Thomas J. Campbell]. [...] Practically every instance of expulsion was for political intrigue, political infiltration, political subversion, and inciting to political insurrection.

So, and most of the people that threw them out, Keith, were Roman Catholic monarches! They were thrown out of places like Spain and Portugal, like two and three times each, France, they were thrown out most of the Central American countries, they were thrown out of Russia several times. Of course, almost any time that that occurred, they came back with a vengeance. They were responsible for assassinating not only President Abraham Lincoln, which is something that's totally disappeared from American history text books and from encyclopedias, but they killed Czar Alexander I and Czar Alexander II of Russia, they killed King Henry III and King Henry IV of France – one of them tried to give religious liberty to all of the French people. They've got such a track record of murder, not to mention religious genocide like happened in Croatia in the 1940s.

There is another great quote – () some people, you know, try to say, the Masons are running everything – this is by another historian, it's an American historian named James Parton. Very short quote, he says:

If you trace up Masonry, through all its Orders, till you come to the grand tip-top head Mason of the World, you will discover that the dread individual and the Chief of the Society of Jesus [i.e., the Superior General of the Jesuit Order] are one and the same person.

So clearly, these guys are big power players. If we go back and study european history, we'll find out for centuries ... and of course the Jesuits are kind of – as far as the Roman Catholic Church goes – a relatively new order: they have only been around 400 and plus years. But for those 400 years, almost every single King, Queen, the mistresses of the King, the top generals in those countries – all had Jesuits for their father confessors. Their children ... of any royalty, or anybody that was important went to Jesuit colleges. In universities they were at the forefront of setting all those up. So, when you become the father confessor to the King, or the Queen, or to his mistresses, and all of the sudden you want the King to launch – let's say – a religious genocide against the Waldenses or somebody, you just go in and say, 'hey King, we want you to kill all these people, even in your own country,' and if he starts to hesitate, 'well, how about we tell the Queen about your ten mistresses?' That's why I wrote an article about the confessional. It's the greatest intelligence gathering system that the world has ever seen.
