Pope Francis S.J. Feels "an ‘event’ ... wipes him out, not a natural end"

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/03/29/is-pope-francis-planning-a-last-hurrah.html

(excerpt)
Once more the 78-year-old Francis seems to be racing against the clock, and many in Rome are speculating that his decision to declare such a momentous event so soon in his papacy, barely two years after his election, is to be sure he gets one in before time runs out, as if he is holding a sort of last hurrah or a farewell ceremony. And there are sad, almost sinister undertones.

“This pope seems to be in a hurry to get as much done as he can, as if he’s got a deadline,” Marco Politi, a Vatican expert, said at a small roundtable discussion on Francis and the length of his papacy last week. “He keeps talking about how his time is short, but it’s not because he’s sick. He has told his friends that he feels it will be an ‘event’ that wipes him out, not a natural end.”

In an interview with the Mexican network Televisa this month on the occasion of his second anniversary as pope, the pontiff repeated the idea that his days are numbered. He said he had a feeling that his reign at the helm of the Roman Catholic Church wouldn’t last too long, echoing previous comments in which he said he had a “vague sensation” that his time was short. “I have the feeling that my pontificate will be brief—four or five years,” he said. “I don’t know, even two or three.”

September 2015- Pope Francis SJ To Visit Washington, D.C., New York City and Philadelphia

http://en.radiovaticana.va/news/2015/03/27/pope_francis_to_visit_white_house_on_september_23,_2015/1132562

(Vatican Radio)  The White House issued a statement on Thursday announcing United States President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle will host Pope Francis on September 23, 2015.

The meeting will take place in the White House, and the statement said President Obama and Pope Francis would discuss several issues of mutual interest, including “caring for the marginalized and the poor; advancing economic opportunity for all; serving as good stewards of the environment; protecting religious minorities and promoting religious freedom around the world; and welcoming and integrating immigrants and refugees into our communities.”

The statement said President Obama “looks forward to continuing this conversation with the Holy Father during his first visit to the United States as pope.”

Pope Francis and President Obama met for the first time at the Vatican on March 27, 2014.
It has already been announced Pope Francis will address a joint session of the United States Congress on September 24.

After visiting Washington, Pope Francis’ trip to the United States will take him to New York City, where he will address the United Nations General Assembly on September 25, before he heads to Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families from September 26-27.

Inclusionary vs Exclusionary Nationalism - POLAND

Quite applicable to Israel, which alas more follows the Dmowski rather than the Pilsudski model

Inclusionary Nationalism - Jozef Pilsudski

Jozef Pilsudski - one of world history's greatest political leaders!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%B3zef_Pi%C5%82sudski

Piłsudski's regime began a period of national stabilization and of improvement in the situation of ethnic minorities, which formed about a third of the Second Republic's population.[51][126][127][128] Piłsudski replaced the National Democrats' "ethnic-assimilation" with a "state-assimilation" policy: citizens were judged not by their ethnicity but by their loyalty to the state.[129][130] Widely recognized for his opposition to the National Democrats antisemitic policies,[131][132][133][134][135][136] he extended his policy of "state-assimilation" to Polish Jews.[129][130][137][138] The years 1926–35, and Piłsudski himself, were favorably viewed by many Polish Jews whose situation improved especially under Piłsudski-appointed Prime Minister Kazimierz Bartel.[139][140] Many Jews saw Piłsudski as their only hope for restraining antisemitic currents in Poland and for maintaining public order; he was seen as a guarantor of stability and a friend of the Jewish people, who voted for him and actively participated in his political bloc.[141] Piłsudski's death in 1935 brought a deterioration in the quality of life of Poland's Jews.[136]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volhynia_Experiment

Henryk Jozewski

The Volhynia Experiment was a cultural and political program by the interwar Polish government in the province of Volhynia whose purpose was the create a Ukrainian identity that was also loyal to the Polish state. It was hoped that this program would furthermore lead to pro-Polish sympathies in Soviet Ukraine and serve as a possible aide in Polish plans concerning the Soviet Union.[1] The Volhynian Experiment was opposed by both Ukrainian nationalists from neighboring Galicia and by pro-Soviet communists.

History

In 1928 Henryk Józewski, the former deputy minister for internal affairs in the Ukrainian government of Symon Petliura, was nominated the voivode, or governor, of Volhynia, to carry out the program of cultural and religious autonomy for Ukrainians in that region. Józewski, a Pole from Kiev (where, unlike in Galicia, Poles and Ukrainians had a history of cooperating with one another),[2] was a Ukrainophile who felt that the Polish and Ukrainian nations were deeply connected and that Ukraine might one day become a "Second fatherland" for Poles. [3] Like many Poles from Kiev, he was bilingual in the Ukrainian and Polish languages. [4]

Józewski brought Ukrainian followers of Symon Petliura, including former officers in Petliura's army, to his capital of Lutsk in order to help in his Volhynian administration. He hung portraits of Petliura alongside those of Pilsudski in public places, [3] founded the Institute for the Study of Nationality Affairs and educational society for the Orthodox (which expanded to 870 chapters in Volhynia), subsidized Ukrainian reading societies (by 1937, it had 5,000 chapters), and sponsored Ukrainian Theater. The use of Ukrainian language, instead of Russian, during church sermons was encouraged.

A loyal Ukrainian political party, the Volhynian Ukrainian Alliance, was created.[5] This party was the only Ukrainian political party allowed to freely function in Volhynia.[3] Its programme called for democracy, a separation of church and state, and equality for all citizens. Although many of its supporters, former officers of Symon Petliura, had committed anti-Jewish pogroms in Volhynia during the period the Revolution, under Jozewski's influence antisemitism was not tolerated.[3]
Two groups competed with Jozewski and his pro-Polish Ukrainian allies for the allegiance of the Volhynian Ukrainians: the Communist Party of Western Ukraine and the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), based in Galicia. The Communists referred to the Volhynian Experiment as a "Petliurite Occupation", and set up a front party, the Peasant Worker Alliance. The Peasant Worker Alliance, whose affiliation with the Communist party was unknown by most of its supporters, grew to be the most popular party in Volhynia, until it was banned by Jozewski in 1932. Soviet-based partisans fought Jozewski's police in the marshes of northern Volhynia. [3]

While the Communists were coming to Volhynia from the East, Ukrainian nationalists entered from the South. The OUN saw Volhynia as fertile ground for the expansion of its Ukrainian nationalist ideal. By 1935 it was reported that 800 OUN members were operating in Volhynia; they had penetrated many of the Ukrainian institutions that Jozewski had created. According to Jozewski's rivals in the Polish military, the pro-Polish Petliurite Ukrainians in Volhynia failed to match the OUN in terms of organization and numbers.[3]

During the period of his governance, Józewski was the object of two assassination attempts: by Soviet agents in 1932 and by Ukrainian nationalists in 1934.[6]

Cancellation

After his sponsor Pilsudski's death in 1935, Józewski's Ukrainian programme was cancelled. The anti-Ukrainian Polish elements in the Polish military took control over policies in Volhynia. Józewski was criticized for allowing Ukrainians to buy land from Poles, Orthodox churches were demolished or converted to Catholic use during the "revindication" campaign, and by 1938 Józewski himself lost his post.[1][7] Under his successor, all state support for Ukrainian institutions was eliminated, and it was recommended that Polish officials cease using the words "Ukraine" or "Ukrainian." [8] The Polish army Generals believed that filling all state offices in Volhynia with ethnic Poles would ensure fast mobilization and prevent sabotage in case of a Soviet attack on Poland.[9] Ukrainians were systematically denied the opportunity to obtain government jobs.[10] Although the majority of the local population was Ukrainian, virtually all government official positions were assigned to Poles. Land reform designed to favour the Poles[11] brought further alienation of the Ukrainian population..[12]

Military colonists were settled in Volhynia to defend the border against Soviet intervention.[9] Despite the ethnic Ukrainian lands being overpopulated and Ukrainian farmers being in need of land, the Polish government's land reforms gave land from large Polish estates not to local villagers but to Polish colonists.[10] This number was estimated at 300,000 in both Galicia and Volhynia by Ukrainian sources and less than 100,000 by Polish sources (see osadnik) [13]

Plans were made for a new round of colonization of Volhynia by Polish military veterans and Polish civilians and hundreds of new Roman Catholic churches were planned for the new colonists and for converts from Orthodoxy.[8]

Afterwards

The ultimate result of Polish policies in Volhynia was that a sense of Ukrainian patriotism was created; however this patriotism was not tied to the Polish state.[1] As a result of the anti-Ukrainian Polish policies that followed the Polish government's cancellation of the Volhynian Experiment, both Ukrainian nationalists and Communists found fertile ground for their ideas among the Volhynian Ukrainian population.[8] Eventually, the Polish population of the area would be destroyed in the Massacres of Poles in Volhynia.

The Volhynia Experiment makes perfect sense, especially considering that before the 'Ukrainians' were known as 'Kieven Rus' they were the East Polans:

Exclusionary Nationalism - Roman Dmowski

Roman Dmowski

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Dmowski

Forever a political opponent of Piłsudski, Dmowski favored what he called a "national state," a state in which the citizens would speak Polish and be of the Roman Catholic faith.[54] If Piłsudski's vision of Poland was based on the historical multiethnic state that had existed under the Jagiellonian dynasty, which he hoped to recreate with a multinational federation (Międzymorze federation),[55] Dmowski's vision was the earlier Polish kingdom ruled by the Piast dynasty, ethnically and religiously homogeneous.[54] Piłsudski believed in a wide definition of Polish citizenship in which peoples of different languages, cultures and faiths were to be united by a common loyalty to the reborn Polish state.[56][57] Dmowski regarded Piłsudski's views as dangerous nonsense, and felt that the presence of large number of ethnic minorities would undermine the security of Polish state. At the Paris Peace Conference, he argued strenuously against the Minority Rights Treaty forced on Poland by the Allies....

... For Dmowski, what the Poles needed was a "healthy national egoism" that would not be guided by what Dmowski regarded as the unrealistic political principles of Christianity.[10] In the same book, Dmowski blamed the fall of the old Commonwealth on its tradition of tolerance.[10] While at first critical of Christianity, Dmowski viewed some sects of Christianity as beneficial to certain nations, through not necessarily Poland. Later in 1927 he revised this earlier view and renounced his criticism of Catholicism, seeing it as an essential part of the Polish identity. Dmowski saw all minorities as weakening agents within the nation that needed to be purged.[10][74]

In the prewar years, the history of Poland was contested terrain as different ideological forces pulled Polish nationalists in opposite directions, represented by Dmowski and Piłsudski.[75] Throughout his career, Dmowski deeply disliked Piłsudski and much of what he stood for.[72] Dmowski came from an impoverished urban background and had little fondness for Poland's traditional elitist social structure.[71][72] Instead, Dmowski favored a modernizing program and felt Poles should stop looking back nostalgically at the old Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which Dmowski held in deep contempt and should instead embrace the "modern world".[72] In particular, Dmowski despised the old Commonwealth for its multi-national structure and religious tolerance.[72] He saw the ethnic minorities in Poland as a direct threat to the cultural identity, integrity and ethnic cohesion of Poland, directly in competition with the Polish petit bourgeoisie with which he identified.[73] Dmowski argued that good citizens should only have one allegiance to the nation, and there is no middle ground.[76] In his ideal Poland there would be no ethnic minorities, they would either be polonized or forced to emigrate.[77] The success of his nationalistic ideas, also adopted and propagated by nationalists in other countries (such as Lithuania and Ukraine) contributed to the disappearance of the tolerant, multicultural Polish-Lithuanian identity.[76]

Georgetown University Calls Wlodimir Ledochowski "One of the best superior generals in Jesuit history"

http://berkleycenter.georgetown.edu/people/wlodimir-ledochowski

Wlodimir Ledochowski, S.J., was a Catholic priest and the 26th superior general of the Society of Jesus. The son of a count with a background in law and politics, Fr. Ledochowski entered the Jesuit order in 1889 and was ordained a priest five years later. He was significantly involved with the administration of the Jesuits in today's Poland, Germany, and Austria before being elected superior general in 1915. Ledochowski's time as superior general was marked with the significant changes of World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II; he called together two general congregations, negotiated a concordat with the Italian government over the Society, and invested in infrastructure and reforms that helped bring new momentum to the Jesuits. Following his death in 1942, he was widely considered to have been one of the best superior generals in Jesuit history.

1911 Protestants Fell In Line With Rome On Pharmacratic Inquisition

The very same publication "The Herald of Gospel Liberty"
that got it right on Cardinal Gibbon's opposition to public schools in the U.S.,
sadly bought Rome's impending Pharmacratic Inquisition, opposing even Coffee and Tea
with its disregard of the Bible's suggestions to use the herbs of the earth as meat.
http://continuingcounterreformation.blogspot.com/2015/03/1911-baltimore-cardinal-gibbons-decried.html

It might be interesting to inquire, Why Cardinal Gibbons thinks the public school system of the United States is an evil.  As I see it, it is because the public schools teach children to think, independent of the priests of the Roman Catholic church. The plan of that church is to have the children taught under the immediate supervision of the church, and as the public school system does not consult the Roman Catholic Church as to what shall be taught, or as to who shall do the teaching, the Roman Catholic prelate forthwith pronounces the public school one of the five great evils of the land. ... The Catholic invasion of Protestant rights has already gone quite too far for the best interests of our common country.
Alas, "The Herald of Gospel Liberty"would adopt the very thinking behind the Vatican's criminal and socially destructive drug war, breaking with the Gospel and the concept of Liberty, including even opposing the use of Coffee and Tea, both which are God given herbs of the earth.

OUR WASHINGTON LETTER

The Department of State has recently issued an announcement of the second International Brewers' Congress to be held in Chicago, October 12 to 22d next. Copies of this letter have been sent to the Diplomatic and Consular Officers of the United States in foreign countries asking their co-operation. Among other statements in this letter are the following: "It is the purpose of this Congress to discuss agricultural, scientific, technical and sociological questions connected with the brewing and allied industries. The Secretary of Agriculture of the United States, the Hon. James Wilson, has accepted an invitation to act as honorary president of this Congress, and the United States Department of Agriculture will he represented at the International Barley and Hop Exhibition by a suitable exhibit." This is signed, "Your obedient servant, P. C. Knox." This suggests a question which may be submitted to the people for discussion. How far should the machinery of a government be used in advertising and promoting a business which courts and statesmen have declared is the chief source of poverty, misery and crime.
SOFT DRINKS
Governor O'Neal of Alabama has recently called attention to an evil which demands the consideration of all parents and citizens. He says: "I very strongly urge prohibitive legislation against all so-called 'soft drinks' which contain cocaine, caffeine. acetanilide, phenacetin, or other added injurious chemicals or habit-forming drugs. At the present time many parents who refuse to let their children drink coffee or tea in the home because of the caffeine they contain, will suffer them to be doped with caffeine at the soda fountain, without the knowledge that these drinks contain this injurious substance. In the language of an eminent chemist: "The country is full of caffeine drunkards [DW note- sic] who are wholly ignorant of the nature of the disease from which they suffer, or its cause."
COCAINE AMONG NEGROES
From many parts of the South come reports showing the increasing use of cocaine by the negroes. This is especially the case with negroes employed in the large lumber camps in that section where there is local option. It is found that as saloons are closed many of the negroes turn to the use of cocaine with results that are most serious. The closing of the saloons is good so far as it is good, but not sufficient. We must prohibit the sale of habit-forming drugs such as cocaine; but more than this the temperance people must do something to break up the monotony of life and give men some new interests. We must conquer by supplanting. Reform thus far has been largely negative. The time is come when it must be more directly positive.
A GENERAL COUNCIL OF WAR
At a recent meeting of the Northern Baptist Convention in Philadelphia the Social Service Commission called attention to the fact that the temperance forces are divided to the serious detriment of the cause. A resolution was adopted by the Convention requesting every religious body and temperance organization in the land to select representatives who shall hold a general council and endeavor to form a working and positive program of action and to mobilize the forces of righteousness in the campaign against the over-shadowing evil of the saloon. The situation is critical and demands immediate action. This council of war must be fully representative. The Social Service Commission was asked by the convention to take such action as seems wise in securing such representatives from the various organizations and churches.
PURE FOODS AND DRUGS
In a recent special message to Congress President Taft called attention to the fact that by a recent decision of the Supreme Court the Food and Drug Act was seriously impaired. Without fear of punishment under the law unscrupulous persons knowing the medicines have no curative or remedial value [DW note- baseless statement to reject God given herbs for the sake of establishing a monopoly of medicine of an FDA approved schedule of synthetic patentable pharmaceuticles] for the diseases for which they Indicate them, may ship in interstate commerce medicines consisting of substance [DW note- that are un-patentable and thus can’t be secured by APhA members as source of profit] possessing any slight physiological action and labeled as cures for diseases, which in the present state of science are recognized as incurable. "This," says the President, "is an evil which menaces the life of the people and strikes at the life of the nation." He therefore urges Congress to amend the law in such a way as to prevent the misbranding of foods and medicines. To remedy this. Senator McCumber introduced a bill (Senate 2849) which was referred to the Committee on Manufactures. This provides that an article shall be deemed misbranded in case of drugs, "// it is an imitation of that offered for sale under the name of another article." "If the contents of the package fail to bear a statement on the label of the quality or proportion of any alcohol, morphine, opium, cocaine or any derivative or preparation of any such substance." "If there is written or printed on the, package or container thereof any false or fraudulent misrepresentations concerning its curative qualities, effects, or physiological action." The druggists of the country who handle the various nostrums, no doubt urged on by nostrum makers, are flooding the members of the committee with letters. It is important that the people who believe in pure food and drugs should communicate at once with Senators from their state urging immediate action on this important measure. Senate 2849.
Such represents the same sort of satanic perversion of government as seen today with various 'Baptists', including the full delegation of what constitutes acceptable medicine as whatever is approved by the US FDA.

Jeb Bush- The Openly Catholic Fascist 2016 Candidate For U.S. President

As reported earlier today in The New York Times article by Michael Paulson: Jeb Bush, 20 Years After Conversion, Is Guided by His Catholic Faith, Jeb Bush would be the 2nd Roman Catholic President of the U.S. if elected in 2016.

More correctly, given what happened to the first one, John F. Kennedy in 1963, who was born into a Roman Catholic family, Bush would be the first such one devotedly loyal to Rome, having made the choice as an adult to convert to Roman Catholicism.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/18/us/politics/jeb-bush-20-years-after-conversion-is-guided-by-his-catholic-faith.html?_r=0

Twenty years after Mr. Bush converted to Catholicism, the religion of his wife, following a difficult and unsuccessful political campaign that had put a strain on his marriage, his faith has become a central element of the way he shapes his life and frames his views on public policy. And now, as he explores a bid for the presidency, his religion has become a focal point of early appeals to evangelical activists, who are particularly important in a Republican primary that is often dominated by religious voters.

The son and brother of Protestant presidents, Mr. Bush, if elected, would be the nation’s second Catholic president. Sometimes, he carries a rosary in his pocket and fingers its beads at moments of crisis. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and has retweeted Pope Francis. He was part of the American delegation to the installation of Pope Benedict XVI in 2005, and during his travels in the United States he sometimes attends Mass in local churches.

Mr. Bush is not the first Catholic in his family. His great-grandfather George Herbert Walker was a Jesuit-educated Roman Catholic who married a Presbyterian.

Jeb Bush, who was baptized in the Episcopal Church, began his journey to Catholicism inadvertently when, as a high school exchange student in Mexico, he met and fell in love with Columba Garnica Gallo. She is a committed Catholic, despite having felt poorly treated by other Catholics when her parents divorced. When the Bushes married, in 1974 (he was 21, and she was 20), it was at the Catholic student center at the University of Texas.
Jeb Bush credits his participation in the Roman Catholic church witchcraft rituals as affecting his thinking:
A bit of a murmur, and the occasional “Morning, Governor,” passed through the Spanish Renaissance-style church, with its manicured grounds and towering palms, as worshipers recognized their most famous neighbor, Jeb Bush. He held hands with the other worshipers during the Lord’s Prayer, sang along to “I Am the Bread of Life” and knelt after receiving communion.

“It gives me a serenity, and allows me to think clearer,” Mr. Bush said as he exited the tile-roof church here on a recent Sunday, exchanging greetings and, with the ease of a longtime politician, acquiescing to the occasional photo. “It’s made me a better person.”
He married his Catholic wife in 1974, but it was not until 1995 that he openly converted.

According to the the New York Times article, his conversion came after his failed 1994 election bid to become Governor of Florida, owing to a perception of him as uncompassionate.
In 1994, Mr. Bush ran unsuccessfully for governor, employing language that some viewed as mean-spirited, in part because of a comment suggesting that he did not see a role for government in helping African-Americans, and in part because of an ad he ran criticizing the incumbent governor for what he said was slow action on executing the murderer of a 10-year-old.

After his defeat, he acknowledged that his marriage was experiencing some stress and said he was going to take some time to regroup. During that period, he began the formal process of becoming a Catholic, taking classes at Epiphany Parish in South Miami. ...
Mr. Bush was officially received into the Catholic Church at the Easter vigil of 1995, making a profession of faith and being anointed with oil before receiving communion for the first time as a Catholic.

“I had decided to convert after my campaign for governor, win or lose,” he wrote in a 2003 email to a second grader in Texas who was working on a school project about famous American Catholics. “My wife is Catholic and we always went to Mass, so she was my principal motivation.”

He has also suggested that concerns about the Episcopal Church, which has moved steadily to the left on social issues and liturgical matters, played a role in his decision.
The issue of compassion, or rather perceived compassion, served to re-brand him for his next bid for the Governor of Florida, which was successful.
“His campaign was still very conservative, but much more moderate in tone — clearly, he had a different perspective,” said Matthew T. Corrigan, a political scientist at the University of North Florida and the author of a biography of Mr. Bush. “If you look at his policy positions, you can see a strong connection to his new faith.”
The issue of perceived 'compassion' would rest upon whatever position that he took on the death penalty.
The bishops who led Florida’s seven Catholic dioceses met annually with Mr. Bush, often opening their gatherings with prayer. Each year, the bishops would try to convince Mr. Bush that the death penalty should be ended in Florida, and each year they failed.
As well as education and immigration:
“I like Jeb Bush a lot,” Cardinal Dolan said in the television appearance. “I especially appreciate the priority he gives to education and immigration.”
The article places an overall positive spin upon Jeb Bush and the Roman Catholic Church
“I love the sacraments of the Catholic Church, the timeless nature of the message of the Catholic Church, the fact that the Catholic Church believes in, and acts on, absolute truth as its foundational principle and doesn’t move with the tides of modern times, as my former religion did,” he said in the speech in Italy in 2009. (Asked by email recently what his concerns were, he said only: “I loved the absolute nature of the Catholic Church. It resonated with me.”)
Indeed it even presents Bush and Rome as being pro Bible:
“His knowledge of the Bible was better than mine, and I was a cradle Catholic,” said Dolores D. Holler, who at the time was an active Epiphany parishioner and was assigned to help Mr. Bush as a sponsor during the conversion process. “On Sunday afternoons he rode a bike to church to go to Mass, and when it got really hot, he’d say, ‘Dee, could you take me home?’ and I’d say, ‘Yeah, throw the bike in the trunk.’ ”
Yet such a spin does not fit with Governor Jeb Bush's lack of respect for such Biblical passages as 'use the herbs of the earth as meat' nor perhaps admonishments against drunkenness and the perversion of such into concentrated drugs of abuse.

Jeb Bush has long been a loyal supporter of Rome's criminal and socially destructive Pharmacratic Inquisition, protecting synthetic drugs and Tobacco from herbal competition, while perverting such useful herbs as Opium and Coca into concentrated poisons of abuse, thus propping up a bloated drug treatment and prosecutorial-prison industry.
http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2015/02/01/3617867/jeb-bush-admits-smoked-marijuana-wants-keep-pot-illegal/
Bush did not make statements this summer about other drug policy positions, including on decriminalizing or legalizing recreational marijuana. But during his term as Florida governor, Bush also opposed treatment instead of jail for nonviolent drug users, and backed mandatory minimum sentences for drug possession offenses, even as his daughter faced jail time over a drug rehabilitation relapse.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) jumped on the Boston Globe report this week to call Bush a hypocrite. “This is a guy who now admits he smoked marijuana but he wants to put people in jail who do,” Paul told the Hill. “You would think he’d have a little more understanding, then.”
If one is to be "compassionate" are they to then support the number one cause of criminal prosecutions by the State against people in the Courts?
 http://abcdriveronline.com/marijuana-will-become-federally-legal-this-month/

The for profit-prison industry market cap is well over $5 Billion dollars in the US alone, with contracts entered into the state guaranteeing them a minimum fill requirement. In 2010 private prisons cost American taxpayers $39 billion dollars. On average, each prisoner costs $31,286 of tax money.

The scary part is, of the more than 2 million prisoners in the United States Justice System (which make up 25% of the world’s prison population, despite America’s 5% share of the global population) 1 million offenders are in for drug related crimes, with the vast majority as non violent crimes.

US marshals hold over $2.4 billion dollars of property seized under asset forfeiture law, which is split between the DEA and local governments. Introduced as a law in the 70′s under the guise of stopping Miamis’s cocaine cowboys from affording bail and lawyers, it has now become a commonplace tool for the government to seize every asset of someone who’s caught with a pound of weed. Every car, every bank account, your house and any valuable possession you own is forfeited to the government if your indicted with distribution or trafficking charges.

Police brutality is rampant in America, with a citizen 30,000% more likely to die by police shootings than in England, a SWAT raid in Montana is makes me sick to my stomach when they open fire on a dog in the house, the owner’s horrified disbelief as he repeated asks “you shot my dog?” with its pain stricken whining in the background.

In 2014, Florida voters had the opportunity to decide upon Amendment 2 to legalize medicinal Cannabis use in Florida:
That medical use of marijuana by a qualifying patient or personal caregiver would not be subject to criminal or civil liability or sanctions under state law.

That a licensed physician would not be subject to criminal or civil liability or sanctions for issuing medical marijuana to a person diagnosed with a “debilitating medical condition” under state law.

That registered medical marijuana treatment centers would not be subject to criminal or civil liability or sanctions under state law.

The amendment would not “affect laws relating to non-medical use, possession, production or sale of marijuana.”

The amendment would not authorize “the use of medical marijuana by anyone other than a qualifying patient.”

The amendment would not allow for the “operation of a motor vehicle, boat, or aircraft while under the influence of marijuana.”

The amendment would not require accommodations for medical marijuana use “in any place of education or employment, or of smoking medical marijuana in any public place.”

The amendment would not require “any health insurance provider or any government agency or authority to reimburse any person for expenses related to the medical use of marijuana.”

The amendment would not require “the violation of federal law or purports to give immunity under federal law.”
The "compassionate" Jeb Bush publicly spoke out against it:
http://www.politicususa.com/2014/08/17/jeb-bush-resorts-scare-tactics-floridas-medical-marijuana-debate.html
"Florida leaders and citizens have worked for years to make the Sunshine State a world-class location to start or run a business, a family-friendly destination for tourism and a desirable place to raise a family or retire. Allowing large-scale, marijuana operations to take root across Florida, under the guise of using it for medicinal purposes, runs counter to all of these efforts.”
As written elsewhere:
[Jeb] Bush’s implication that the state of Florida could be diminished by the legalization of medical marijuana is massively insulting to Floridians. It is a shame that Jeb Bush, the man many Republicans call an “intellectual,” falls back on tired stereotypes about pot that appeal to fear and negative association rather than reason. He does not explain why the moral judgments and preferences of a shrinking slice of the population should dictate the legal status of a drug. Absent any evidence, his alleged adverse effects on families and businesses are just emotional appeals.
But such is the position of the Roman Catholic Church, particularly that of the so-called 'reformist' Pope Francis S.J.:

http://continuingcounterreformation.blogspot.com/2014/06/pope-francis-sj-puts-his-feet-down-his.html
Mafia thug Pope Francis S.J. with drug police
Countless lives lost to prohibition and perverted drugs/petrochemical pharma quackery
and perverted markets aka 100 million deaths from cigarettes

Expect Jeb Bush to be a loyal Papist who would not hesitate to impose and enforce its Inquisition.

1911 Baltimore Cardinal Gibbons Decried U.S. Public Schools

a good article about Baltimore Cardinal Gibbon's decrying public school in the United States, as such then reflected Protestant values;
from a 'Protestant' publication "The Herald of Gospel Liberty"
that I found while researching another matter
where this same publication that got it right here,
unwittingly fell into the Romanist camp

"WHEREFORE, RECEIVE YE ONE ANOTHER, AS CHRIST ALSO RECEIVED US, TO THE GLORY OF GOD."

ONE OF THE FIVE GREAT EVILS

ACCORDING to the daily press of June 4th, Cardinal Gibbons, of Baltimore, has recently said thatof five great evils in the United States, the public schools is one. At once that puts Cardinal Gibbons in the attitude of opposition to one of the most cherished institutions of our land. It might be inquired. Why, what evil has the public schools done? It has done much in the way of enlightening the masses and preparing them for intelligent citizenship. It is teaching the youth of our country how to think for themselves as well as to learn from those in authority, and yet Cardinal Gibbons is quoted as saying it Is one of the great evils of our country.

It is a bit singular that the Cardinal regards the public school as a great evil, and yet he does what he can to get as teachers for our public schools members of Roman Catholic churches. It is surpassingly strange that the Cardinal should desire to have members of his church take part in a great evil. The truth is. Cardinal Gibbons looks upon the public schools as a great evil because he cannot control them. He cannot have them taught by Roman Catholics exclusively, and therefore he cannot make it serve the purposes of the Roman Hierarchy. He does favor getting every Catholic in as a teacher of the public schools, as that will give him a chance to circulate the thought of his church in some small degree. But he will not allow even one child of Catholic parents to attend a public school, If within reach there is a regular Catholic school. Every loyal Roman Catholic must send his child to a Roman Catholic school, where he or she may be early grounded in the "faith of the fathers." It is no secret that the Roman Catholic Church Is an open enemy to our public schools, as we believe, only because she cannot control them and turn them to the use of Catholicism.
Suppose the government should pass the management of our public schools over to the Roman Catholic Church, would Cardinal Gibbons then oppose them as a great evil at all? We risk nothing in saying every objection would be withdrawn instantly and the trust would be accepted, and Instead of an evil, the public school system would henceforth be the greatest factor in modern civilization, and for the reason that it could then be made to serve the ends and purposes of the Roman Catholic Church. But if the public schools would be good and useful under Catholic management, why may they not be equally good and useful under the management of those who are independent of the Roman Church? The reason Is quite clear—under independent management the Catholic Church cannot turn its output to its own advantage as she can when she has control, and you may be sure that when the Catholic Church does anything in which the public is concerned that she has an eye to business, looking to her own fancied best interests as an organization. Soon after Cardinal Gibbons made that statement, openly defying one of America's most cherished institutions, Mr. Taft, our President, Mr. Roosevelt, our Ex-President, and Mr. Champ Clark, Speaker of the House, all went over to Baltimore to honor the Catholic Cardinal, and so of course, please the Catholic people, and then it was that these gentlemen lauded very highly the Cardinal as the head of the Roman Hierarchy in this country, and this, notwithstanding the Cardinal had but two or three days before classed our public schools as one of the great evils of the country. This all seems the more strange when only a little while ago, Mr. Taft, in Richmond, Va., loudly proclaimed the public schools as one of the greatest blessings God has given to our people. Now here we have two of the great men, so regarded at least, taking exactly and widely opposite positions On the same question, and in the face of this fact, Mr. Taft loudly praises the Cardinal because he (the Cardinal) has "demonstrated entire consistency between earnest and single-handed patriotism and love of country on the one hand, and sincere devotion to his church on the other." As the Religious Herald suggests, while the President Is commending the Cardinal's consistency, he had better get out a search warrant for his own consistency. It may be that Mr. Taft Is in fact in sympathy with the opposition of the Roman Catholic Church to our public schools—it, indeed, looks that way. And if he is not, then what is he doing to be going out of the way to encourage the Cardinal in his exclusive purposes. We think there can be no doubt about it that the Roman Catholics, including the Cardinal, are laughing in their sleeves at the way they handle these great men—Protestants, so-called—in the interest of their church.

We are In favor of fair play for the Catholics, but we insist that they stay in their place and stand on the merits of their teachings. By their place, we mean as a church stay out of politics and give themselves to religion. I would say the same of Protestantism, if she had to gain her success* by "hobnobbing" with politicians in order to get their favor. It is all right for the Catholics to stand by and teach what they believe. We raise no word of objection to that, but we do object to their "buttonholing" for political favor in order to advance the cause for which they labor. That is but God's way for planting the truth among men, but the Catholics are said to do it all the same.

Unless Protestants shall stand against this tendency, and do it so positively as to mean something in the eyes of the politicians and the Roman Catholic Church, we shall soon see our government dominated by an element entirely unfriendly to Protestants. We do not wish to see the government dominated by the Protestant churches—we would oppose that as we do the same thing in the Roman Church, and we do It on principle—it is not for the good of the cause of Christ that any branch of the church should be thus bolstering Itself up in such an unholy manner. Each branch of the church ought to go before the public in its mission to the world, standing squarely on the merits of its teachings and practice, on what it is in fact. Here we stand, and here we believe all ought to stand, whether he be Protestant or Roman Catholic. Lay aside these political methods in religious work, stand on the merits of what the church is, and then if the Protestants cannot hold their place along with the Roman Catholics in giving the Gospel to the world, we say, let the men who can best do the work have an opportunity, and hasten the Gospel to the ends of the earth, no matter whether it be done by this or that man, or this or that set of men. It is high time the Protestants should protest and mean it. The Catholic invasion of Protestant rights has already gone quite too far for the best interests of our common country.

His Eminence James Cardinal Gibbons (23 July 1834 - 24 March 1921) was an American prelate, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Baltimore from 1877 until his death. In 1886 he became the second man from the United States to be made a cardinal. He served as Cardinal-Priest for Santa Maria in Trastevere basilica in Rome.
